dc...not sure when I will run this Unit yet...Weather still nasty here...next weeks
weather should help melt the ice...there saying rain for 3 days and in the 40's
As for wheels & tires I am just trying to get a jump on spring here,,,Might have to run on road..asphalt......running in any sand won't happen till may or june....so that leaves 2
choice's dirt or short grass...or on road....I have a place for on road..bigger than 2 football fields paved and vacant.......I guess on road wheels & tires....Baja has more to choose from....I have wheel adapters coming...should be here this monday...Slawhammer

well i can only console you by saying that weather here is brutul also.

i think it would be very nice to have few sets of differnt tyres for differnt occasions as you say.

i think we should get a set of marder wheels at some point slaw and see what we think,crazy beetle rekons they make night and day differnce on our type fg's
 
dc..who the heck is crazy beetle?what about marder wheels?Who has them?
What rims are they and tires?Have this Guy called Crazy beetle give me some input..

Trip: still never heard of him...But never the less if he is a ok stand up guy and

Wheel Adapters

Hey CSP..yup I am a BTO Now....Big Time Operator....I got my wheel adapters today
in the mail...I think there is better choices for rims & tire with Baja....Less money than the
true FG wheels & tires...Checking on Rims & tires now...Going asphalt & cement for first
choice...Weather should be good by next week to get out for a run......Besides I am not ready for off road yet...Most of you know what wheel adapters are any way...

Slaw u might not be able to run them front brakes with baja rims just my 2cents had a prob wit my fg brak set up had to use old block fg blocks were 2 short so so far run good
 
Well murph..I guess I will see when I get the wheels ..what I have to do..Maybe nothing

Can't wait to see how it looks once you decide on the rims and tires! I've thought about doing this for awhile now.
 
CSP..My Friend..yes a great tire,,I read reviews on those last week..That would be a great
off/road tire.....I think from what I have read..I am going with the termac tire
for on road use...Tough as nails..application is asphalt or cement........
So the compatiable FG wheels & big tires I got a while back..I might put those up for sale

You guys are talking about the Baja... Are you talking about the hpi baja? It is confusing to me, because the REDCAT has a Baja and an MT5,(FG used to be the MT5) Hpi has a Baja and FG and smartech and carson and shenqq... see what I mean? Damn I have been into l/s for 3 years and I have no idea about anything, unless it's an FG! lol Help!!
 
Hey Trip..if you back up and follow this afew posts back you will see I am talking
about HPI...I think they have a better wheel & tire choices....I just got some wheel adapters ..grom FG to HPI..I use the same drive squares that you use...
I see what your saying though..lots of "quote Baja's" by different mfg,,,,
All is good my friend..bear with me...
CSP..I think that's the best choice for on /road use....I want to be able to have 3 different places to run my firehammer....DIRT....ON/ROAD....Sand....
But I guess I should have been more expliced on what I am trying to do....
Nothing wrong with you stuck in Fg Land..can only drive 1 at a time any way...
too many toys is to much money spent for all of them...I can see having 2 for different
use's....On/road or off/road and a desert rat...those are the 2 ...I would pick

OK I thought that's what you meant with the Baja, but if you switch to those little tires , plan on changing gears... Big difference in OD so you are gonna lose all your topend, but I bet the lowend could be fun!!

If I wanted a speed demon I would get a HPI Baja maxed out for speed..with the meanest
engine money could buy...I Use to do truck pulling..where ya need low end for grunt...

I did find a complete set of 4 mounted up Like the one you show in the picture

Please take some pics once you get the rims mounted, can't wait to see it. Did you get the Ramtech wheel converters?
