So I pulled apart the original zen 32 in my 5t 2.0 and the crank isn't worth saving but the esp race ported head still looks to be in good condition its clean with no scoring or any scratches that catch my nail. Doug at esp has said to me the cranks tend to be throw aways on these so my question is do I rebuild the stock 32 with a esp race ported head with new crank and piston. I guess intentions are to have an engine for another 5th scale down the road as my 34cc esp engine I built is a spare for my 5t...opinions?

they are like $40 cranks right ? rebuild it !

I did a price break down and its about 100 bucks to rebuild the engine. What would it be worth on the market?

What is included in this break down that costs $100? I would leave the head be an just order a crank, heck if I were you I'd already have a spare on hand lol.

Curious as to what made ya open her up and how does the crank look? Is it seized or something?

Well I just rebuilt the red arrow 34cc that blew up so I have a spare. I saved the case and the crank was still good. I sent my original head off the 2.0 to doug at esp for a race port and to cut the squish band for the stroker crank. The stock has maybe 3 tanks ran through it so I didn't want to waste a good head. The 34cc got new crank bearings and gaskets.

The reason I tore this one apart was to really see how bad the damage was when I initially thought I had sand ingestion the first time with the ddm billet intake insulator. The cylinder is perfectly fine and the piston has light scratching nothing crazy. But I did see alot of heat built up on the rod on the crank and its a deep purple also the crank bearing is blue on the edge.

Included in the $100 is crank bearings, gasket kit, wrist pin bearing, piston, ring, crankshaft, crank seals, wrist pin washers and C clips. I looked again and its about $90

Here's a picture of the crank from the heat. If you look close you'll see a blue line on the edge of the roller bearing too. I did 25:1 and never beat it to death. This bottom end has about a gallon through it.16102235329617961279890390114485.webp20210109_151605.webp

Thats contact heating ! you usually see this when a crank bearing fails or is in process of failing , we used to see this on JetSki's , also can be the wrong bearing for the application.

In the 2nd PIX look at the left side of the bearing around the copper looking area , thats contact wear IMO
