Ah, didn't see you had one. You have got to have an air leak somewhere. Remind me is this a clone engine? What gaskets have you replaced with what your doing now.

Rovan 36cc. Replaced head gasket, all gaskets from head to carb. Complete top end is new.Ah, didn't see you had one. You have got to have an air leak somewhere. Remind me is this a clone engine? What gaskets have you replaced with what your doing now.
Carb is what came with it....wt1191. Just checked compression....wot 60 psi. Brand new top end is there a way to private pm or maybe exchange numbersWhat's the story with your carb? Really walbro or what came with it. Since we are on a compression test kick on the forum have you checked its compression? Tbh man I do not have much faith in clone engines and this is exactly the reason I got away from them after my redcat. Pulled till my hand bled and I said I'm done.
Not enough compression. Something went wrong with your rebuild. Need 90-125 min!Carb is what came with it....wt1191. Just checked compression....wot 60 psi. Brand new top end is there a way to private pm or maybe exchange numbers
Not sure what could have went wrong.......kit out of the box no mods done.....maybe I need to drop the cylinder closer to block??? That is the only way I can fix that issue....piston bore clearance is to much for my liking....both ring gaps are at the same location not a fan of that for sure.....Not enough compression. Chuck it in the garbage and pick up a zenoah 32.
All the info really helps....so with that said about squish . How would that effect the timing??? Or wouldn't it. Would I need to readjust the ports so to speak. I have not vacuum tested the block wet, but plan to. Just thinking more about the timing.....It would both ports so the timing or the need the alter ports won't be needed correct? As for gasket interchange I'm not sure..Eing a double ring it should seal better, there are only a few places you can have ring gap in a 2 stroke without getting into the ports, hence why they are pinned. It's also air cooled, so throw whatever you know about liquid cooled engines in the trash for clearances. These things expand a lot when up to temp. Your would have to have a very large squish band to effect compression that much. 90psi is pretty much a service limit rule of thumb. It will run, but not make good power. Either something isn't sealed up quite right (did you pressure and vac test the engine?) Or they sent you the wrong piston or the base gasket is way too thick.
Easy way to check squish is with some solder down the plug hole. Shoot for around .020" don't get too hung up if it's a bit above or below. I've seen as much as .050" and that's just too much. Idk how the 36cc no fun, interchanges with a zen g320, but they make Cooper gaskets of various thickness to get squish in an acceptable range. (Really you can make your own if you want)
The gasket that came with the kit......I haven't pulled it apart yet to measure the thickness of the gasket but will tomorrow night. What cylinder gasket are you using? How did it get so far out? I'm not sure what squish a clone has but it's definitely not in your favor right now.
