i think im going to run that ratio as well may calm it down a bit ive just got to rob it from the on road and try bugs all ready for next run may try getting it out later on today need to test brakes

Nice 1! Where is best place to get gears from? Ive heard alot about these blackbone gears on ebay - are they any good?
With the power you have you could probably go to 22/42 without losing too much zip off the line.

from what i see there wasnt nothing and a nice conversion kit and very smooth running no real friction from the belt, very stable and stayed planted to the ground unlike mine which needs wheels on the roof

NO No No No No No!

It would be with the Leopard 4 competition - although they have hinted there may be a SC in the box too but only a plastic one.

nice im thinking of making a 4wd bug like dwarfys its so nice seeing a fg marder/beetle going into and coming out of a corner so fast not on its roof,,and if it wasnt the fact id loose half the alloy bits on mine i would change the bug to 4wd,,

Now you've run it, have you got any idea if any crap has got into the belt cover?

Not sure yet Mike and without stripping it down completely (obviously the belt runs under everything) so I don't know for sure. What I can say is it is all pretty well enclosed so if anything only fine dust will get in there which wont cause too many problems so long as I carry out regular maintenance as I always do anyway. I will keep you informed if any problems do arise tho.

As Ren says it was very smooth and planted and was a pleasure to run. I don't get out as often as I should so my driving skills are not the best and the 2wd rolling every other corner was beginning to piss me off but no worries anymore! Should have bought the kit ages ago and I will say again it is a quality kit and the parts are top notch!!

The 4wd front hubs are big & chunky to handle the power delivery and may be a worthwhile upgrade for the 2wd's as an alternative to ally.

Why would you loose the alloy?

He would need to use certain parts from the 4wd kit, in particular the front end as the 2wd ally wont do. The shocks are positioned at the front to allow for the drive shafts and there are no A & B parts due to there being a front diff. Shock tower is different as are the large engine mount and radio tray.

Took the bug out for its first proper run this afternoon & met up with Renbar & Wagon - top blokes & good to finally meet you. The time taken to make sure the build was perfect paid off as I did a tank & a bit of juice & nothing fell off & this was a bare bone build so I am quietly pleased with myself

The 4wd kit has totally transformed the marder (or bug as it is now). It doesn't just roll over & give at the 1st sight of a corner, it sticks 2 fingers up and feckin blasts round them :cool2: Slightly more power would be nice but I will get used to the new set up first then maybe take Stevo up on his offer of a race tuned engine. That said it performed very well and wasnt slow by any means. All in all money well spent & cant wait to get out with it again :cup-1:
did you guys get anything on video? ren said your bettle ran great, much better in the corners. seriously mate,if you want extra power, just get the fg dom, forget about jetpros etc. i cant beleive how much power the dom makes, and you know my fg did over 70 with just my jetpro, but the dom kills it at the low end.loads have been going on ebay lately,im after one myself./
