Would probably have finished it by now if I had the right tools with me for sorting the engine mount, cutting the peg off the front of the engine & the problem with the servos not fitting  Oh well, still built in record time for me anyway :w00t:

Quick question - would you stick with the FG ally shocks (new seals already fitted + new oil) or go with the new shocks in the kit?

These are the shocks.........

Keep the alloy ones on it, but aren't you missing the adjustment screws for the springs????

Found the adjustment screws for these in my box of tricks :cool2: The front shocks don't fit the 4wd set up tho as the shock mount sits higher so had to go with the new stock shocks for now. Another pair of ally rear shocks will be on the future list of things to do.

At home tonight so cant complete the build just yet but as an overview of the kit, the instructions are very clear so its been a doddle to put together and everything fits perfectly. My only complaints are that for the cost of the kit you have to re-use parts such as the steel balls in the front arms which should have been included IMO but by far the biggest annoyance (only minor really!!) is this part which instructs you to put sticky tape over the 2 holes in the front shock plate that are used on the baja and beetle conversion but not on the marder. This is to protect the drive belt. The tape wont last 2 mins and looks shite so why the feck didnt they just include the feckin nut & bolt from the baja or beetle kit to blank the holes off like I ended up doing from my spares box????

tick tock tick tock mondays coming quick mate pull ya finger out

Monday is out mate cos gearbox No 3 in my 1:1 car has gone again. It lasted 1 wk and 1100 miles so its back with them to be done again. Decided to get rid now as soon as it comes back cos Ive lost confidence in it. Just going to get a £1k-£1.5k runner & flog it to death. At that price it wont matter too much if it dies on me but I cant afford £2k on a new gearbox every 15k miles. Cant feckin believe it
