Im back in my little van, no wife & no kids so I can finish my build!! Not much left to do.....
Finish electrics (connect servos & kill switch) & mount battery
Fit roll cage
Route fuel pipes to carb
Fit exhaust pipe (FG tuned pipe)
Set up wheel alignment - 1 back wheel is way out.
Fit side rails for body mounts
Repair broken marder shell & trim to suit 4wd (beetle shell will be on when I have more time to sort mounts properly)
Mix fuel, charge battery, choke on, pray, pull starter.............

the gauges are spot on one came with my touring car and the long beam that slots into rear shock tower it suprised me how far out things are that looked ok to the eye,now both cars are spot on

check out ebay the do pop up but they bid for dearer second hand on ebay sometimes than new from hobbytek or the pit stop shop

Last time I marked some tram lines on the table with tape to get them pointing in a straight line & used a square & steel rule to make sure the camber was the same both sides.........all technical stuff given that I haven't got a feckin clue :lol: Mike did post some basic settings somewhere and I based my theory on that so need to find it again for doing this 1.

Going looking at that car tomorrow so hopefully it will be ok & I will get it in the next week or so. My car still in garage being sorted & wont get it back til Fri so this garage wont be able to put a figure on it until then. Def looking forward to coming down tho :cool2: Just hope we get more weather like this week!

oi pics pics pics pics, less chat and more 4wd building we need updates pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase mate :lol:

Will get some posted tomorrow mate. Not got much done tonight cos got a 5:30am start in the morning but got the tank bracket on the right way now so the roll cage fits :o It was ever so slightly offset but didnt say anything in the destructions & I didnt notice until I tried putting the roll cage on and the front was catching the filler cap!!! Straightened my old cage up as well so the wing will sit right, it was like a broken leg before

I thought the engine was raised over the belt drive in these but the mounts are the same height its just the large 1 has a different brace arrangement. The layshaft gear is 14T onto 48T diff ring gear.

Which throttle/brake servo do you reckon - Hitec 645mg with 9.6kgs of torque or Bluebird 630mg with 14.6kgs of torque? Both have been used without fault and are capable of locking the wheels on grass on the 2wd marder with the layshaft tuning brake. Im not bothering with the front cables on this cos they are a pain to set up and I cant be arsed with them anymore.

I want to spray up the fg tuned pipe before I fit it. Does anyone know if Halfords sell high temp paint?

Doing family stuff over the easter hols so nope not yet!! It will def be ready for a shake down next week tho.....

Was supposed to be out with Barry this afternoon for a shake down but the weather was feckin awful so it will have to wait til next week. It is finished tho and Ive got pics :lol: Just tweaking the setup while Ive got time on my hands, wheel alignment was a bit out and front shocks werent rebounding as they should. Checked the oil and there is enough in and the shaft rebounds approx 1/3 way so must just be the crappy stock shocks. Im changing them over to the old rears I had on my marder as I know they work at least. Need to get another pair of ally shocks, have a pair of 2wd fronts but they are too short for the 4wd. The shock mount sits high over the diff so need to be the same as the rears which is a bummer. Anyway for all you doubters here are a few pics :D

Oh and I managed to find the adjusting collars for the ally shocks so they have also been fitted to be rears tonight.

it cleared up about a hour after you phoned me mate,,your bugs looking far to clean but does look good mate

It lashed it down here all day and was doing the same at Ipswich. The A14 was horrendous.

I need to make some sort of poop guard for the front end. With it being 4wd the front wheels are going to fill the radio tray with shite in minutes so will see what I can do with it. Any ideas?
