A little work on my 71 supreme.

I got the itch to try and clean up my 71 Supreme so 1 bit of polishing led to me polishing the whole engine, I have the head to do left. This is the pre cursor to me anodizing the entire engine in the fall or winter when it's too cold to run it. I'm thinking black with orange splash but I mag do black with polished splash, I'm not sure yet .

Mine is sitting on the work bench filthy. Waiting on a place to play again. I should clean it up.

Honestly I like the aluminum look. Worst part is if you find you need a case half or something then it starts to get complicated. I like off the shelf stuff.

They sure are pretty things though!

@Clubin I do too but being a used engine I felt the need to clean it up beyond just wiping it off. Little Rock chips and scratches were bothering me. I'll be anodizing the whole engine after my carpal tunnel surgery.

Polishing is like doing drugs or eating chips...once you start you have to get to the bottom of the bag/finish. Lol

Thanks @Clubin . I'm going to contrast the black with mirror polished hardware and the name tags on the head. I polished the parts so I had uniform consistency on the cases, I was thinking splash or drizzle but I feel it's a tad played out now. So something different.

You're right about that, trends come and go and sometimes come back. Best way to do it how you like it, next thing you know you've started then new trend. Ever heard the saying black is the new chrome?
That was they way it went for car wheels for a while. Now black and polished could be the new chrome.
Lookin good no matter what, way to keep it original and unmistakably yours

@Rceverywhere absolutely, I'm not one to fit in as well. Plus if I got color on the engine it would lock me into a color scheme and the hardest thing would be breaking the engine down again to change the theme so the smartest thing for me was to keep the engine color neutral.

scotchbrite pad or wheel ryan if ya don't mind a brushed finish on the pipe

Thanks Paul, yea its a possibility I'm debating on the finish. May have it coated to contrast the engine
