I left VIP premix 25:1 in the 5ive T tank/engine for 4 months.....it started up no problem...
But yeah...what Scruffy said..you can put some 2-stroke oil in the cylinder and work the piston up and down, then store.

I just put a little of the same 2cycle oil i run thru the plug hole and work it up and down a couple times and store

Ok, thanks guys.

Adding on to this....and quoting myself....cause I'm an idiot...

it's VP Powermix 25:1...not vip pre-mix 25:1........:banghead:idiot:facepalm:

either way....

The stuff is kind of expensive as hell....the price is just as bad, if not worse than RC nitro feul.......Powermix stuff is around $25.00/gallon at the LHS in the area.

BUT.....

VP Powermix fuel is ETHANOL FREE!!!!!
No ethanol = no moisture attraction.

Quick explanation of what ethanol in feul does to a small engine...
(i ripped it from this website that deals more with full size vehicles if you wanna read more into it. https://axleaddict.com/misc/Pros-and-Cons-of-Ethanol-in-Gas)

Ethanol and Small Engines
One of the issues with ethanol is that it attracts water and it does break down faster than gasoline. This is not much of an issue with transportation vehicles. But with small engines this can be a huge problem.
With water absorbing into the fuel, there is the chance that rust will form on the interior of the engine. For obvious reasons, this is bad for any piece of equipment. The particles that get into the gas from rust flakes will clog up the fuel filter sooner or later. It is possible that these flakes will also cause damage to the pistons, rings, seals, and any number of other components of the engine.
Ethanol increases gasoline vapor pressure which may cause a vapor lock in the carburetor. This fuel starvation will prevent the engine from starting. This is an issue in higher altitudes and hot weather. Make sure to be storing gasoline with an ethanol mixture properly and to use it in a timely fashion.

Gasoline with ethanol decreases the life of the engine and its parts. The alcohol is not good for seals and causes a quicker break-down. Having a cleaning agent like this constantly in a small engine that was not engineered for this fuel mixture simply ages it at a faster rate.

That's one of the reasons everyone always says make sure you have fresh gas..

If you are using pump gas with 2-stoke oil and decide to leave it sitting around for an extended period of time (like say a few months....) I'm not sure that mixture will be worth using again....I mean you probably could use it but you are better off getting rid of if and mixing up a new batch.

I can't find non-ethanol pump gas around me...
If i want to use the stuff..(and I do want too and do use the stuff), its gotta be the VP Powermix...
I think a hardware store around here sells some stuff called Trufuel....but I've never used it.

The ethanol wont kill your engine if you drain it out. I cant even figure out where to get ethonal free gas around here.... Fog the engine for longterm storage and run a good fuel stabilizer before you finish for the season. I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but the marine grade sta bil. Is about the best I have found. Use it in every engine I got. 2 and 4 stroke. I have had next to no carb issues from storage any more.
*true fuel is good stuff I've never seen a 25 to 1 mix normally its 50 to 1 and 40 to 1

Its not ethanol in the pumps, its ethanol in the gas. Most pump gas contains 10% ethanol
