well i got the alloy rear end in, had to tweak the 4mm sway bar alittle to get it to miss the dog bones.

the rubber drive shaft boots will not fit on the diff side, im not willing yet to dremel the new lower suspention arm braces to make it fit ill do that once ive used them for a bit.

im going to have to get some alloy m8 ball ends for the turn buckles ive added them to the still need list.

any way heres some more pictures lols

Looks really nice :) But why didn`t you buy the adjustable diff :bored: The price difference isn`t that much compared with the aluminium diffhousing.

i did buy an adjustable locking diff (lsd) like mentioned befor in this post.

but it got lost in the post, i got a refund since im no longer working and i had this new one sitting in the shed ill just have to use this one, untill i can afford to buy the locking diff

whats the go with fg 08513 anit roll bar 4mm,

this is the second sway bar ives tryed for my fg mt its the same as the one for mono shocks this sway bar is ment to be for off road mondles with twin shocks like the monter it hits on the two front shocks and it will not fit into the sawy bar slot of the alloy bulk heads is there some other bit i need or what

any one have a clue

well i got the radio tray and radio box sorted, im a slacker but this is as neat and as dust proof as i can make it, i cant see any light thru the rubber gromet, where all the servo wires, power wire, and pico wires are ran thru so im happy with that,

i ended up powering alll three servos seperate to the rx but its ran thru a stock rx switch for now while i make up another power lead like what you sue to charge the sub c battery packs with.

now ive just got to tweak the 3 alloy servo horns and adjust the steering rods, and mount the front end in, i hope the steering rods are long enough for twin servos im think they are not at this time.

a while ago i found some hi flow fuel lines in the bottom of a draw in the shed left from my baja, i sold it befor i got to put them on, so i thought ill give it a go and put them on the new fg fuel tank, as the fuel line was squished a bit int he fuel tank gromet and this line will work better with me fuel line clips for my rollcage, with a bit of modding there alright.

one problem ive got but can be fixed with a grinder, (not to keen to grind new parts with a grinder)

im using a 16 tooth layshaft gear on mine and the dps rear lower suspention arms are in the way of the fg small alloy engine mount big time there no way it will fit looks like ill have to grind some off (ouch)

this is what im talking about

i don't think the 14 tooth would even come close

yeah easy fixed, i will gring the lower supention arms head where the pin goes thru as it looks like it has more meat, i marked it out today looks like only a tad needs to come off

hi benckie
looks great mate.
so where is the cheapest place and how much to buy a 2wd fg mt truck for ??
how much more extra for all alloy upgrades ??
i like the idea of 2 wd over 4 wd,less moving parts, less to stuff up.
better to work on.
easier to do wheelies,all good.
thanks
glen

hey glen

i got mine from checker fag racing the price shipped to my door is on the first page, in australia its checker flag racing and daneils pit stop and power slide racing for fg parts, most of my parts has come from europe and the usa, works out cheaper and more range some times, also ddm in the usa now the dollar is better is good for trucks and parts.

well as for the total cost for all the alloy parts its hard to say as i haven not added it all up but iove kept every recite and invoice so i can add it all up once im finshed, but i dare say even with alot of second hand parts im around the 4500 aud mark.

it cost around 4500 in autralia to buy the fg 4wd competion monster truck with all the alloy upgrade parts and cable or hydro brakes alround.

ill admit what i have done is the more expensive option but i wanted a 2wd and i want to try and make this even stronger then a 4wd competion mt.

but once i brought the hydro,s for the front and the 8 upgrades shocks and finsh ill say it will cost me more then a fg 4wd competion with hydros alround and will be around 6000 aud, less then what it cost to fully upgrade an hpi baja or a clone baja to make them any good

feel free to pm me any questions i can sent link by pm, so this thread can stay on track

any way the problem i had today with the dps rear lower alloy suspention arms and the fg alloy small engine mount not fitting corectly, is no biggy, i have to file this section down only a small amount it should affect strenght of the arms or truck.

this is the bit and the amount im talking about.

well i had a play around with the TPS Central hydraulic braking system today, a very easy mount and very easy to bleed, nice install i have not used them yet, but i think they would work well with hydros on the front.

since there is over 1 inch on movement (befor filled with fluid and bleeded) on the brake leaver on the master cylinder i think these will work with extra calipers, if they are shimed and the pads are mantined.

oval all i am very happy with the purchase and the install, to easy, will work great with front brakes and or lsd rear, i will keep you guys up todate when i get to use them, here a couple of pictures.

well ive finshed the power station, new g260rc with ported head, replaced the new 603 carb with a new 668 carb, and added ada billet manifold and the ddm top end pipe, tps chbs alloy gear plate, cat5 steel gears, stock fg airfilter and for now a stock zen clutch with a 8000rpm spring ive just got to let it sit for a couple of days, for it to dry.

today the new clear body is being sent off to a mate to be airbushed, ive asked for nothing to fancy some things simple like my baja 5b body.

also my stock rollcage is getting sent of today or over the next couple of days to a guy in australia whos been making some nicve custom steel cages, quick release cages custom bumpers and fuel lines.

he is going to make me a custom steel rollcge for my fg mt and powder coat it, so should good, just means i cant drive my fg mt yet, but it will be worht the wait
