Curious if on our lil two strokes if there is any benefit to having the pipes coated? I.e. ceramic coated? I know that one 1:1 cars it has benefits of keeping external temps lower around the pipe and also assists on the flow of the high temp exhaust on its way out by preventing thermal tumbling inside the pipe. Just curious if it is worth while on our rigs??‍♂️

it keeps the heat in and lowers the external temp of the pipe, there might be a slight performance benefit but youll never notice it. id only get it to keep the surrounding areas cooler and the colors are nice looking ?

Just make sure it is NOT the heat dissipating coating. We had somebody do this once as an experiment because the coater guy told him about it. Thought was good idea to keep temps around pipe down. Bad idea. Major killed the power. He ran both pipes back to back on same day to compare. Dissipating coating was ice cold when he brought it back to check it. The hotter you can keep the exhaust gas the better. In our little engines though. Doubt you will see it.

This is great advice HOWEVER if you could get the first few inches of the pipe to be cold "possibly don't coat the header" then you will again gain a slight bit more power. Has to do with blow back effect in the exhaust side. Will resist fuel from exiting the chamber.

Well if 2 strikes is all you can do,no coat required...BUT for more then that, get a coating "condom". It'll prevent you from becoming a father before your ready. ??
Lolol! I already have a 17 year old and a 13 year old and a 13 year old step daughter...well past that stage in life. Lol!

I am thinking about using Jet-Hot to do my pipe.

I am just nervous now as it does reduce surrounding temps...don't want to lose any power by doing this.

I know it been mentioned but don't you get better exhaust scavenging with a hotter pipe? Just like turbos work better hotter and why they have blankets for them
