Putting BB Gears in this buggy was the worst Idea ever. It has been nothing but f-ing trouble. What a waste of money this has been . So I ordered the new BB 54mm clutch bell and it got here Thursday. Go it all installed wtf the pinion gear won't move at all . the bell is actually bottoming out inside the housing when I tighten the pinion gear bolt .

It looks like the boss that is supposed to ride on the bearing is not tall enough for the bell to clear the inside of the case. The bearings are installed from the outside and they are recessed about 1/16 in which is about the height of the boss. So Now I'm probably going to have to buy a new HD bell carrier. Oh and to top everything off I launched the spur gear e-clip across the room . :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: No Idea where it went so I had to order some of them from Fast Eddies.

At this point I'd just return all the poop and buy a hostile or blackmagic spur and a pinion off ddm in the desired ratio and be done. My opinion obv

It was yours and Doug's opinion that got me to buy the BB's . You think I'm going to listen to either of you again ? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I didn't say that you should buy them. You bought them, figured out that you needed a cb, and then I joined in the convo. I don't think i suggested you to buy them ?‍♂️
Doug is a nut job so it's best to take everything he says with a grain of salt ???

$$@%$&%^&^%(*& Rovan damn it. So the layshaft is the thickness of a "C" clip to short to install the "C" clip. Tried sanding the spur gear carrier but i need to take more off . It will be easier to spot face it on the mill . Unreal . So damn close to having it all back together. View attachment 62357
??? setup looks ? through ??

Thanks, tell me about it . If I take the washer out that was supplied with the carrier there is to much slop that would allow the gear to walk back and forth on the layshaft . It would probably pop the clip off. I still need to worry about the clip coming off. I just don't want to make it easier for it to come off. If I start loosing c-clips it will force me to buy Layshaft with the bolt that goes in the end of it to hold the spur gear. Think its TI. If I have to buy a new layshaft it will become a winter project and I'll need to buy a new carrieer too because I modified this one to fit. :poop::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Clipless layshaft and you won't have this bullshit ?? $40 off ddm, one of the best things I've bought ?. But sand the spacer down cuz you need to run that thing ?
Yeah put a big file on the carrier ?? I went to the hardware and bought harden e clips the other day?? a lot tougher than the stock ones??
