Back into 1/5 scale with a new 5ive T 2.0

That's really all I need. I'm not racing my 2.0. There is me, my neighbor and a few friends that have other 1/5 scales.

Well, I must say that I have the best wife on this planet. Apparently she has been looking over my shoulder while browsing the internet and gave me a pleasant surprise. She ordered me a DX5C transmitter from amazon and a DDM Dominator pipe from Dave’s. I am truly blessed. If I didn’t know better, I‘d say she wants to drive this rig more than I do, lol.

I run the DX5C on my 5T with the Killer RC kill switch. I can not for the life of me get the switch to work like it should. I can kill it remotely with an aux switch, it will kill if I turn the RX off but it will not kill if I turn the TX off, just goes to radio failsafe which is back to idle. It's a known problem with the Spektrum radios with AVC and there are supposed to be ways to work around it but I've never got it to work.
 
Can you set fail safe to full brake instead of idle? I have heard issues between the kill switch and Spektrum but I also heard there are solutions as well.

Me too and I've tried every method as directed, followed videos, called Killer RC, etc., still won't work with the Spektrum radio.

Don't get mad when she comes home from a $1k shopping spree and only bought 1 pair of shoes and a purse.:ROFLMAO:
 
Just an fyi, I run the 2.0 stock receiver with a dx5c and the killer rc switch and have absolutely no problems. The 2.0 rx doesn't have avc You just have to re-bind with the tx set to everything you want to happen in case of fail safe, i.e. kill switch positioned to off, full brake, etc and all features work for me. It's an awesome truck, enjoy!
 
Many thanks. I just received my DX5C Transmitter from Amazon. Very nice radio. I’m still waiting for my Lipo rx battery but I do have a Nickle Metal 5 cell 6v rx battery on hand I can use to bind the tx and rx and use it for now.
 
Just make sure to change the low voltage cutoff to the appropriate setting on the kill switch (if you have it in yet) for whatever battery you're using and you should be good to rip!
