Ahh yes...if you want your clutch housing to fit you have to notch it out for the brakes to fit.. i used a v1 vertigo clutch housing and notched it and yea your 1.0 clutch bell carrier is useless here and didnt you order a whole clutch housing/carrier setup?

I’ll probably cut more off. Thinking to cut the side trays just after the last body mount, cut up the read bumper some? and drill holes through the front bumper and side tray as well

shocks are almost done just waiting for bubbles to settle. Red springs and 40wt in front and 45 in rear will be my starting point and ill tune from there.

Hey y’all haven’t updated here in a while. Upgrades since the last update are j concept chasers, MOD clutch more tuning to the suspension and drilled out more of the plastics.

As she sits now.

Drilling out the panels serves two purposes. 1 is weight savings and 2 is allowing dirt to exit the body which will save even more weight.

So I bought the clutches (got one for the 5b as well) for $100 during Black Friday. The clutch rebuild kit costs $70 so it’s a huge cost over the fs clutch. In my initial break in and test I can say that it is a huge upgrade. For the 5ive I think it may be as big of an improvement as a top tier tuned pipe over the fart can. It accelerates effortlessly almost as if the rig is 10 pounds lighter and a huge selling point is that it’s advertised to not suffer from clutch fade ever. I’m very happy with it, but now I just have to see what kind of durability I can get out of it. I’ll keep y’all posted for sure
Clutch is something I want to hear more of?? whats the costing?
Drilling hole will balance out all the gaffer tape ? don't forget us here now that you on the road to the big time??
Some times you gain weight sometimes you can shed weight.?‍♂️ A company out in Germany makes an adapter to use the mcd fuel tank on the fives. Supposedly it’s a huge weight savings. I just can’t understand what the website says?‍♂️?

Did you happen to save all the plastic you cut out to see what it all weighed?

When I changed out my diff cups and bones in the baja for FLM gear I gained half a pound! I wish I had all the stock parts along with my baja (came upgraded) so I could weigh and compare. I have a feeling it just might be lighter/faster/cheaper to not add half this stuff we do, run stockish and maintain. Just some food for thought before you start cutting more holes and bumpers off. ?

I don’t have a scale, but making the rig as light as possible is 100% a good idea. everything is basically still stock. This truck has a 34 reed, exhaust, servos aluminum braces and some better quality l5b stock parts like the hinge pin braces and booted axles. The only other upgrades that I see making this rig faster is the MOD shocks.
