Can you spin the clutch bell with the engine off?
Can you hear any binding?
Yes I can spin it, it lookings free spinning nothing is catching other than the clutch itself
It may be an 8k spring, but how old is it? Is it stretched?
Al.
when you turn down the idle screw (the larger screw not the H or L) do the revs actually drop? If not you may need to adjust the throttle linkage to suit. If they do then the clutch need looking at. Have you put a new spring in?
is there marks inside the clutch bell to show maybe the clutch mounting bolts are hitting the inside? you might need a washer on the inside. maybe a bad bearing in the clutch housing is allowing the bell to sit on a bit of an angle and contacting the clutch
Is the rod actually taking the throttle position to idle, at no Tx input/rest position?
Is the rod sticking in the slider at the servo?
Al.
there has to be a reason it is engaging. you have to find that problem. modding to fix a problem rather than solving will just lead to further problems. it should slap together and work. so it's process of elimination
clutch is in good shape.
shoes move free on the bolts?
spring
something is rubbing the bell
bearing is worn
clutch carrier/side plate is not spaced properly and is out of alignment
does the clutch free spin with the pinion off?
is the clutch bell pulled out far enough to keep it from rubbing? maybe the bearing wasn't seated into the gear plate enough
