so i changed the center fluid to 20mil and i was just checking out the center dog bones when I seen the front dog bones closest to the center diff looks like it built up alot of heat and grinding on the pins...is this normal for the 5ive t and is this why they changed the geometry of the center diff on the 2.0?20200926_145318.webp20200926_145411.webp

Could be,my son and I both have 20mil in the center of our 5t 2.0's and we didn't see any abnormal wear on anything when we tore down ours a few days ago to clean and oil them good.

I put grease in mine every run, then blow it and all grit off with my air compressor, and oil bearings and grease them for next run.
You definitely do more than I do. I have some motorcycle chain wax ill try on the diff cups
Guy shouldn't do this ? grease/wax + dirt = grinding compound ??? here is my pin after two years? and I have V1 drive geometry ??I never put anything on it. Modified rc do booted center diff brake discs ?? thats when you add lube ??20200808_112714.jpg

Done this to all my rc's and never had a failure. I could see if you're a lazy fuk and didn't maintain it every run like we do.

Tbh, when I get the spare money I'll get the booted brake set up, it will eliminate a bunch of wear on the shaft pins, as you can then grease them and not have to worry about all the dirt and whatnot getting stuck in there. And what do you mean by CV? We all seem to take that term a bit differently.

Meaning a coupled shaft on both ends no "free floating" pins. Kinda like the ball socket type at the end of the 4 shafts on the outter axles
