Ooooooh. That looks sweet. I might have to try this foamex stuff out.

Thanks fellas! I'm chuffed how it turned out, and just how easy it is to cut with a nice sharp stanley, or craft knife. I first used foamex as inner panels for my FG Monster Beetle, help keep the unwanted dirt out, things are so much cleaner inside when it's running. Bear in mind they don't experience any kind of impact as they're within the confines of the wheels and bodyshell on that particular model. I've also done it to another FG model, making a front end. Again these were within the protection of the wheels, except the top panel which was a little more exposed. I'll have to upload some pictures to postimage and pop them on here so you can see what I mean. The RC in the above post will be a test for them as the panels are going to be subject to some impacts when my dodgy driving gets going, particularly the triangular roof pieces, they'll possibly be knocked out should it land on its roof on a stone for example, hopefully the bond I've used will keep them in place. They shouldn't break/snap hopefully. I'll keep you posted! otherwise, I'll try get those pictures uploaded of the other FG's so you can see what I mean. Whereabouts are you Nasim, in the UK or US, or somewhere else for that matter? lol

Here’s some pix of the FG’s to give you an idea of what I mean.
The first pix above are of the MB with foamex panels, simply to provide protection to the internals of the car from dirt, stones, etc.. not long after the pic I made another set which were cut to be much higher going further up inside the body. Nothing got in at all after that!

The next 3 are of an FG I made up from a whole load of spare parts left over from the 4WD conversion and from the spares box. Fitting two stainless rods running from the front bulkhead to front of the cage adds to the strength and gives an anchor point for the foamex. These worked really well keeping things clean inside.

I'm in the U.S. Haven't been able to find any U.S. based companies that sell foamex. Guess i will have to krder from the U.K.

Yeah there's bound to be foamex available in the US too! ;) I'll be using some more to add protection on the Matrix 5SC soon, I'm not surprised by the amount of gravel etc that gets between the chassis plate and radio tray above, a lot of parts are exposed there.

Thanks mate! I just use it as a method of protecting what's within, not in an impact sense like the shell is used for. It's a tough material but would no doubt break in a crash with the weight and speed these things travel at on tracks. It's quite hard for your own hands to snap it, thicker the stronger. 5mm has been plenty strong enough for largescales.

Took me about a year to get mine together.

Right now, using two 6s max amps at 4500mah each , however i'm about to purchase two 7s max amps at 4000mah each. Max Amps seems to be the only company that I found that makes big batteries that fit the footprint of the stock DBXL-E battery trey.

yes stacking with,3m velcro on the batteries and long apex straps. decided to hold off on the 7s batteries, I spooled the center diff and I'm running 17/48 with 12s the car is uncontrollably Fast. I have to dial In the suspension before I think about adding more power.

I'm running 18/48 8s with a leopard 1050kv and mine car is also too fast to control, rate setting is at 75% now and is barely controllable, thinking 17 pinion.
