I have problems with the drivetrain set screws. Fighting the cv joints now. Ordered the fast lane machine axles hopefully that will help. Also have 2 30 degree north 5t clones and don’t have near as much trouble with those.

Is there an area that the Dbxl does better in? I’m stuck between the Dbxl and the Vekta.5 for ground clearance. I’ve got 40 acres and I’m in the middle of thousands of acres of wheat fields and the plow ruts definitely aren’t shallow, so a 5t I feel would get stuck far more often being so much lower.Go for the 5T
If you get a DBXL you'll wish you had a 5T
Really? The kid runs the hell out of his little 1/10 scale summit in the fields and rarely gets stuck. I like the 5T just didn’t think that it would do all that great. With the ruts and being 3/4 of an inch shorter than the Dbxl.Everything will get stuck in plow ruts as far as 5th scale. If you want ground clearance get a raminator especially for your ruts. You’re crazy thinking a vekta or a dbxl will do better than a 5t, and realistically I've seen all 3 in person and the ground clearance isn't significant between each one.
Oh okay bad ass, what do the Dbxl 2.0s excel in then?Yea guess I haven't seen a wheat field in my neighborhood to judge what they look like. A 5t will do just fine in that honestly.
Also turtle racing sells rear A arms for more ground clearance. I had a vekta and I sold it and kept the 5t.
Well his is taller and much lighter. I think the 5th scale would handle the whoops much better with the weight but would need decent travel. I much prefer the looks of the 5t to the buggy’s. And I’ve heard it handles much better, but no one has really said a specific aspect in which it handles much better. The kid picked out a Traxxas summit for his first real RC, it sits like 4” off the ground or something. It’s a crawler that has a 2 speed tranny to still get some good speed out of it. Being he’s only 12 I won’t hold his Traxxas choice against himGood luckand dbxl's excel in being garbage.
Also if feel that your baiting the question your asking. Your saying a 10th scale has no issue going through the fields so why would a 5th scale be any worse?
Thats a pretty good answer for me. I have noticed the aftermarket availability isn’t much compared to what’s available for the 5t. Really a shame that they are charging so much with the quality lacking.I know your new here and i get it here to ask before making a mistake, I have a blunt sense of humor so don't take offense, but me genuinely telling you the honest opinion please do not get a dbxl as you will be very disappointed. The quality suffers across all generations of the dbxl and I have had my hands on the new dbxl 2.0 gasser and I wasn't impressed at all. Not to mention the air box is crap and your stock with limited choices for anything in the aftermarket.
Do the extended an arms cause the wheels to hit the body?I agree as well. The 5t can built upon in many ways to suit your needs.
Just a friendly comment. I must be a lucky owner of the dbxl2.0. When I purchased the car I stripped it down and reassembled just to make sure all was good I have 15 tanks of fuel through this rc and only problem I had was one broken cv shaft and its all stock except a pipe and center diff from the e. On my second set of tires and I keep up in top places at our local races. I love this car.I know your new here and i get it here to ask before making a mistake, I have a blunt sense of humor so don't take offense, but me genuinely telling you the honest opinion please do not get a dbxl as you will be very disappointed. Eating parts.Oh okay bad ass, what do the Dbxl 2.0s excel in then?
Detroit performance is a good one too.No they don't extend out they extend down a bit.
Also ddm racing is the go to for 5th scale stuff.
