Hey all,

I found some beadlocks thaI I bought ages ago but I hate the colour. They are anodised blue but completely the wrong shade. I want to make them raw or black.

Should I key the surface with ‘wet&dry’ then just paint it or give it the oven cleaner treatment first and remove the anodisation?

Who has done it? TIA,

Milo.

Cheers Doug. ??

Don’t want to rot it, that’s my worry.
you wont rot it miles (y) ,
i've deanodised a whole set of baja parts before and as doug says, comes out silver,
i did my area rc beads and they were fine an all, all with oven cleaner, used the gel type and brushed , covered in a tub , left for 15 mins, brush in with old toothbrush then left again for 15 mins then wash em off (y),

edit, shouldnt need to say this really cos its obvious, but wear gloves and safety goggles whether you use oven cleaner or caustic soda,
aint worth an eye or a chem burn (y)

I have had really good luck using Easy Off oven cleaner on the parts and then placing them in a bag to soak for about 30 mins then washing them off with Dawn dishwashing liquid
