FG side plate reqlly necessary?

Hello I have a FG monster truck, and I realised it has no side plates (FG6183 and 6184). Do they actually have a big function, like strengthening the chassis? Here is it's price and picture:and here is the car:sorry if someone has already seen this post on RCTalk but yeah, I think that I'll delete that post and from now on I'll just stay on this forum when I have questions about the 1/5th or 1/6th scale trucks

It makes it a little more rigid but mostly protects everything from a side impact. You can see that with the marder and baja don't have side guards but there body's go all the way down to the chassie were the mt body doesn't go down to the chassie but halfway
