I'm running the rcmax chassis too with the 80..my front standoff left doesn't hit the chassis either and there is no hole for it and I did not have to shim my engine either. Everything was mint.
Also make sure when you get your vertigo trans to tighten the clutch bell shaft really good and loctite it or will loosen.
Also what gears did you get?
Little confusion here . The rcax has 3 legs under the motor and they are same length unlike the zenoah front leg that is much shorter. On the chassis only 2 screw holes to secure the bottom of the engine. That is why it wasn't lining up correctly because I thought the front leg of the rcmax motor needed to be screwed down also to the stock chassis.

So everything is good to go except the clutch is sticking out little. I spoke to John and he also mentioned that the bell housing on the stock kraken is not that great and the vertigo is little deeper.

So he is giving me a nice discount for a complete vertigo tranny and upgrading to 63mm clutch.

Haric,

I know you have the rcmax chassis. Does it have 3 holes on the bottom to mount the motor or 2 like the stock?

I am thinking of drilling a hole in chassis where the front leg of the rcmax engine is located and adding another screw for more reinforcement.
What gearing did you go with. If you want speed go with the 24/17t

When yous guys were saying shim did you mean these shims? I used these in bottom of chassis plate, but nothing to line engine to trans at all should be bolt in fit, 3rd standoff floats
Wow she's dirty😞

Ok just wondering because everything on mine lined up I didn't have to shim, wonder what's with that
Do you have the v1 block? Maybe is why. Doug got the first V2 block. He got my 65 when I switched, My 80 was built with a V2 after.

No idea of it is v1 or v2. Most likely v2 because they didn't have an option for that when I ordered 3 weeks ago.

Sorry niz, that's was for @Haric you will definitely be v2 block. Hari's block is V1 I'm sure, he had the 80 before everyone, I ordered the 65.. Mike said it was a special release new v2 block so was one of atleast one of the first few made, but then chatted with Hari and changed my mind for the 80, said fek it go big😊👌 easier to downgrade if it was too much. But so far so good for power to weight👍

First time painting with metallic color you learn alot. Is totally different than the regular solid colors. But the final finish is worth it.

Now, should I use matt clear on it or gloss clear?

Or just leave it as it is.

That is the thing. I wish I had a extra piece I could try.

After paint is been completely cured I will apply dry wall tape and shoo goo.

The hard part is drilling the holes on the body for the cage. I was thinking putting the stock one on top of the new one and marking the holes.

No clear..your lexan should have clear protectective overspray mask on the outside, under there it is what your looking for, should look like candy red glass
Unless your shooting for a dull color or accents...then yes you use dull coat on the outside of the lexan
What I've found best for my vektas lexan finish and I've rolled it a couple times now is ceramic wax. I've applied a good few coats and seems to work well for me
