So I stated taking this apart what's this servo on the bottom for next to the steering is that for reverse?View attachment 82324View attachment 82326View attachment 82327View attachment 82328View attachment 82325
So this truck had reverse motor is super tight need to inspect and see if it was run hot or never broken in can’t turn flywheel unless I use pliers

Nitro engines when let sit for years are almost guaranteed to internally rust and seize unless they were literally drowned in after-run oil ( which almost nobody does) and at that point they are junk. Those WERKS racing clutches were awesome. A very popular mod back in the day when Savages ruled the dirt. Those S25 engines were terds as far as power but easy to tune for the beginner and have fun. Reverse is handy if you bash in tight areas where you need to back up out of obsticles, but the reverse design weakens the overall drivetrain integrity and it might be an issue with .30+ size performance engines. If your in a bind and need parts PM me I have a ton of parts and can hook you up as a favor.

You need to get the bulletproof differentials , shafts/ dog bones. One thing to think about is that the brand new flux xl 2 comes with a center diff instead of the standard transmission but I don’t think it would work with a nitro motor plus the TVP’s are different on the new savages compared to the old ones so your new FLM TVP’s wouldn’t work. I’ve got a xl with LST shocks on it and it makes a huge difference. The problem is finding them. I’m about to get a set of custom beefed up LST shocks from overseas and I can put you in touch with the guy depending on how these turn out.

I have been looking at the differentials on ebay so many different ones on there its getting confusing. I picked up some heavy duty dog bones but there from China so I'm skeptical. If you upgrade your shocks I might be interested in your old lst ones let me know.

Buy the bulletproof hpi diffs, they are the strongest ones that I know of.
As far as the LST shocks I’m probably going to put the ones I have on the new truck for now, unless I get enough funds to go ahead and get two sets of the custom ones. I’m looking for 24mm hubs if you come across any

The blow proof diffs will eventually blow out as well. I've eaten a few sets since I went brushless in the save xl.
Are you taking the time to shim them properly? I haven’t had any problems since I started doing this and quit doing standing back flips

Yes they are shimed properly. I even went as far as changing the throttle curve and limiting throttle input rate down to 80% that helped a bit. I just figured it was part of life. I actually ended up buying a complete Flux just for the diffs in it the last time I blew the rear dif out. I was hoping they would make a decent upgrade since they started production up again.

You can buy the whole diff already assembled from Jenny’s RC for $25. All you would need to do is open it up take the grease out and put whatever weight silicone you want in it

You will need the 9 tooth pinion to match the diff. Jenny’s only sells them as a set with the input/ diff cups. It’s probably a good idea to go ahead and order all that stuff because if The truck your building did not start out life as a flux model it will have weaker driveline components. If that’s the case you said also order the flux driveshafts from Jenny‘s
