Totally gone, pretty much impossible to find those gears. Totally sucks. Hpi needs to get their poop together. Next option is clone crap but nothing fits together correctly as coop said. Someone needs to remanufacture them or make a stronger version (not really required tho as those gears rarely have issues unless they have a Alx 85 or 80 supreme in from of em) .the baja is pretty juch dying cuz of hpi not making the proper stuff, now we're stuck with sub par clone stuff that never fits right ??

No what you need to do is if you are going to use Rovan internals you need to use all Rovan parts for the diff. . Not sure what the 4 parts are called that hold the gears , I couldn't get them to go into the HPI diff case with the gears. I would have had to beat them in with a hammer and I still don't think they would go in. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So all rovan internals. Can you still use a nice diff case (TR, irc ,ect)? Cuz even with all rovan stuff my madmax diff wouldn't go together correctly without mods. The parts are shotty, no 2 are the same

Beats me . I'm talking about the internals of this case not the outer diff housing. I got the Rovan diff to fit in my TR quick change housing if that's what your asking . It fit tight.

This past spring I bought all the parts to build a spare diff out of all hpi parts. I'll probably build that diff up over the winter and swap it for the Rovan diff.

What I'm asking is did the rovan internals fit into a nice diff case NOT transmission case but that, now thinking about it,is a good question too.

would mbe curious to know. both look very nice.
make very sure you do not pull on that o-ring trying to push it in the galley groove!, It will not return to it's right size. Also the retainer square plates only go in case halves one way only. Look at stamped plates and see the broke edge and match it to the machined galley in diff housing. that broke edge is machined into the housing and if you put plates in backward they will not go all the way down into housing and both halves of housing will not match together. If you are going to throw some HP at it then put in the bushings instead of the ball bearings as they will out last the bearings 5:1. the HPI swash plates are not used and the plastic gear plates and the finished diff works best with 5000-7000 wt fluid. Some but not all blackbone diff gears need alittle grinding on inside bolt ears to slip onto IRC housings...Just a kiss. Do not press on ring gear as it makes the diff not run true in gear run out. It is blackbones making and not IRC housing. The IRC diff cup kit is worlds better than TR...BY FAR!

I never did try the pre molded o-ring seal from the hpi gear set to see if it would fit the IRC cases, When you build your kit out post if the pre molds fit as the big round o-ring is a royal pain in the ass to set in and have it stay there while you put case halves together
the next time you contact the boys at detroit P ask them who was the first one they sold a new rcmax trans case to and they will say Todd, ME! my tracking # says it is at post office for monday pickup. Looks like we both are on the same page as a build goes...Lol
