Guy's sorry for going :offtopic: But....... is this site legit

http://www.uaebaja.com/shop/

The prices seem very very cheap and I am a bit weary to buy
off this site?

Cheers
Andy. :)

This guy use to sell KM buggies for a while. He was selling them on RCU. Had some good feedback. About a month ago, a customer contacted me asking if I knew the seller (I sell KM too, Dan). It seems that the customer bought something and never go the buggy. So he might have been a legit seller at one time, but it seems that he hasn't been good recently. He is located in United Arabic Emirates (UAE), so be careful, I would not recommend to buy from him. There are other seller in the US that would be a better bet.

As the purpose of this thread I will list my personal experience with my king motor 001. the first thing I did was went over everything on the car, bolts nuts and so on. everything was well fitted, and tight! I used the suggested methods for break-in over the period of the next 3 days. then spent the next 5 days trying to get the car to start, at which time I noticed the return and warrenty on my car. it's very possible I could have contacted the seller to see if he could do something to help me but I just didn't want to argue with anyone. so I ordered a g270rc engine from ddm.

my only advise would be, be prepaired to spend money for a decent engine. the cars themselves are very well built and put together. but the engines IMHO lack a lot to be desired. "as a side note to all sellers", I will not order anything again if it does not have a unconditional return policy. 10 days return in unused unopened condition is not excepting any responsibility at all for selling a defective product!

I expect I will get flamed for this reply but thats fine, just remember I am within the guidelines of this post!

What is it about these engines that are supposed to be junk ? Aren't they supposed to be a copy of the CY ?

Thanks--Proflow
It's a crap shoot, these engines are a copy of CY and CY is a copy of zenoah. with each copy I guess quality goes down. the king motors engines are made in mainland china which is known for it's lack of quality control and the carbs are defenitly a weak point! I have personally looked inside my king motors engine as well as my zenoah and there is a world of diffrence in the fit and finish. I am not saying that all king motors engines are bad, I am however saying it's alot more likley it will fail than a zenoah or even a CY engine. as I stated before, be prepaired to purchase a new engine. if by chance you get a km engine that holds together kudos!

just my 2 cents

oh and BTW, I spoke with a tech at ddm before purchasing my zenoah, he will be more than happy to discuss the diffrences in the 3 engines!

I see,
I plan on porting my new 29 copy before running it next week, so I'll snap some before & after pics so we all know if its just a casting thig or what.

Thanks--Proflow

i just bought the ksrc-002 withthe30.5cc engine-this buggy has power and runs great-one problem-i have had 2 pullstarts to strip in less than 8 pulls each-the pullstarts are from king motor.this engine has a good bit of torque to it so-HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM-ANYBODY HAVE A SUGGESTION-i have ordered a set of metal pawl and claw to put in place of the plastic claw-will this work or is there a better solution-

If its just the pawl breaking then the metal one will take care of you. Best thing to make sure is you don't slam it when you pull. Let it engage then pull.

Hmmm, you might have had a dodgy motor matey. I have a KM 2.0 with the clone of a clone of an original engine and have not had any issues with it to date. I have had it for about 18 MTHS now and its still pulling strong.Granted the carbs are not the best on the market so I replaced mine with a WT 668 and had a good all round buggy.
I do agree with you in some ways on the returns policy but the way these things get hammered it does tend to sway the guarantee toward the seller,I mean you could buy one and thrash the backside off it and return it saying its faulty. But in no way should you only be able to return it if it hasn't been used and still in the box,how are you meant to test it???
IMO,they are EXCELLENT value for money and I am a proud owner of one but like all models, they do have a few faults.
Good luck and enjoy.
J;)

Just got to looking while upgrading gears on my buddies new KM 5B, top tranny plate is broke at brakes, pinion gear ear broke. While removing bolts for clutch cover I looked at the gasket for the cylinder and noticed it's shimmed lol. It has one gasket on it then another half one on carb side. Runs good tho. I wouldn't buy a KM product, there have been too many weak parts on this on compared to my HPI's. I understand you can get into one for half the price of an HPI and I don't have a problem with you if you do that, just not me.

This is a list so far in replacements

Wheels and tires
Front bumper
Wing
Front and rear bearing carriers
Servos
Top bearing tranny plate
Gears
Air filter assembly
Radio

It came with aluminum arms, I'm sure they would have needed to be replaced if they were plastic

Well its an open forum so everyone has their own opinion. I also do put it down to driving styles as well.I have also owned about 9 or10 FG's and a couple of HPI's as well and in all cases the hpi's came out worse.
My 5T has had
1- front plate replaced
2-rear plate replaced twice
3-New RPM arms all round
4-chassis
5-2Xhubs
6-gearbox seals and bearings
7-drive cups x 5
8-roll cage
9-3 x wheels
10-4 x axles
11-2 engines
believe me ,the list goes on.

Gues I must have been lucky with my KM and unlucky with my HPI's:rolleyes:

so far mines run pretty good a 29cc T1000 i got from king motors. as mentioned earlier, my starter also stripped out after 2 tanks of gas, ordered a new starter that was made a little different on underside, i had the shroud or collar surrounding the engaging part, solved the issue, so far that ones working great.

only upgrade i got that didnt work was a enclosed clutch carrier, the one received was not the one pictured, to which i have found a very close match for that pictured part i thot i was getting, a turtle racing cover, only differences were a few holes drilled here and there on places, thats it,

this was one in auction pic:

this is one i got:
IMG_1314.webp

nothing alike, and bearings were misaligned when installed, had to force bell shaft thru, and was tight to turn. so had to end up sending it back, and got a metal version of the stock plastic 3 point connection carrier, its working fantastic so far. everything else i got including the truck itself from same seller has been great, not sure what happened on this paticular item, but i don't think its his fault, IMHO

UPDATE:::: after talking it over, i think me and the seller have both agreed that i just got ahold of a badly machined part. i talked to him bout the old one, which apparently the one i got was the NEW style, he held a old style for me and i bought that from him, i put in the bearings other day, and everythings lined up as it should be, i like the old style lots better than that new style.

this is the turtle racing one pulled right from thier site,
enclosed_1.webp

see the remarkable resemblance between the auction pic and this one? i think the one i got was just a poorly machined one, if i had recieved the one in auction pic, im positive it would of been perfect, cause i think the auction pic is a TR carrier modified with some added holes for weight reduction and maybe heat tranfer.
