Can you post how the x2 holds up , there are a few of us waiting to hear how this is. I all ready have a t1000 , it seems to be of pretty decent quality. So if these are anything like that they should be good.

I haven't yet finished the break in with the X2 and losi. I think I will take them out for a spin today. It has been raining and snowing a lot around here (austria). But today we have sunny skies!
As I mentioned my first impressions on the X2 where not great , but I haven't abuse them yet.
Later I will post some comments.

You can expect a full ,in-depth review from a former 5ive T owner's perspective (objective, independent, 3rd. party) I do like all my Losi products, so this will get a fair shake for sure. I plan on using everything stock out of the box til' a few tanks past break in. Then I will loc-tite all fasteners including the alloy mods then going on and beat it like it owes me money!:w00t: I will stick to my current plus and minus review method as that has been clear and concise to hit the high and low points of this purchase.

Got one today. Met Dan and 3 co-workers at their KM/Rovan office and warehouse in an industrial park just north of NYC. Pleasantly reasonable fellas working with a ping pong table in the warehouse, so you know their all right! Got to see the new Rovan LT305, that looks more promising with better body and fit and finish. I was able to snag a RTR X2 with clear body and blue anodized parts and beadlocks in person. They had a good 60+ trucks in stock easily. I wish I could have stayed a little longer, but they have work to do I'm sure as well as my family was with me. Some initial thoughts on my purchase. Excellent shipping carton, manual, and option parts, all equal with Losi. The RTR radio is meh' but gets the job done with excellent range (tested only) not running yet. The center diff. leaked oil like a pig, and the oil seems to be thinner than 30K so that would come out anyway for my setup. Rear hub carriers are sloppy at the outer hinge pin. Servos seem strong enough with only tiny buzzing at center from the steering servo only. Engine and pipe look spot on. Air filter is kinda' weird with more than 4 foam discs stacked with no oil on any of them. Fasteners all tight, very little drivetrain friction. Tires and wheels are excellent. Shocks full and setup virtually identical with Losi except for stiffer rear powder coated springs. Tuned well by my eye. Plastics quality looks and measures on par with Losi except for the rear hub carrier hinge pin hole. Decal sheet is meh' these never ship well in my experience...Well worth the trip and hard earned dollars. The engine is a 29cc 4 bolt fuelie labeled unit with a torch spark plug and walbro wt997 carb. The pipe looks to be a match for the VictoryRC tuned pipe (normal version). I will have pics and review posted when I get some time on it. Basically just have it out of the box and spot checked....

my x2

hello all, I have had my x2 for 2 months now and here is what I found.
first I have never seen a losi 5ive so I can only tell you about the x2
out of the box it is a nice looking truck I got a clear one with blue trim.
all 3 of the diff had oil leaking from them so I took them all apart the oil inside them was like water very thin I cleaned them up and put 7k front 10k center 5k rear and after 2 tanks no leaks yet so that good news. there was some binding in the drive train but all I did was make sure bolts were tighted in the right order and everything was seated correctly and it was fine after that. oh I also added some grease to the ring gears they were dry from the factory. when I had it apart I added all the upgrades that come with it they all fit and look great. the shocks felt a little sluggish at first but once I worked them a few times they work as they should now. I also added the head light from the hpi truck they fit it the pods on the x2. first start up was very easy about 10 pulls to get the gas flowing its running a bit rich but I only have 2 tanks thru it so next run I will lean it out a bit and see the full power of this beast. all in all I would say if you are on the fence about getting one just do it you will love this truck. I know I do. oh and Dan is very good to work with my sticker were jacked up and he sent me some new ones right out.

thanks for the input . I , without a doubt will be getting 3 of these .one for me and two for a couple of buddies . I'm just trying to get a feel for the common issues that there may be with this truck

Update: the slop in the hub carriers is fixed. You can go 3 ways, pop for the $20 for 2 Losi hub carriers part#LOSB2077, and test for fitment on the KM hingepin, or KM part#X51047 and risk getting another sloppy one or just sleeve the hub carrier hinge pin hole like I did. I just drilled it out and put a 1-1/2 in. long sleeve bushing in it that fits the OD. of hinge pin. No more slop and there is plenty of nylon material there to support the sleeve. $3 at Lowes. The joys of wrenching. Not a deal breaker. I also added grease boots, part#KMA103B to all of the diff. outdrives for extended service life. They fit OK on the center diff. and fit perfectly to the front and rear diff. outdrives with some grease smeared on the dogbone ends, should reduce wear a lot.

If you guys are dropping that much coin and don't want issues just get Losi 5ives! Give to the company that put in the hours of R&D, blood sweat & tears, not a rip off company! Just sayin... :cup-1:

Stop hating on somebody else post if that is not what you wanted great!!!! you bought a losi good for you yea we are all so happy for you even though you will still need to upgrade!!!! They choose not to buy one and bought the X2 good for them you can not tell nobody else what to do with there money they buy what they choose. ALL RTR have there good points and there bad yes even the losi. They all break. They all will need upgrades!!!! Any company gets there R&D funds within the first 2 years of a product release that is why when an item first comes out it is higher priced then it come down after a few years. So after 5 years later losi has more then covered the R&D. You don't have any comments on the X2 which you don't have one so there should not be any comments from you stop reading and comment on the thread. Start your own thread on how you feel the losi is so much better (Which IT is Not) but you are entitled to your opinion. Yes I have a losi the rovan LT305 and just bought my son and X2 so I do know the differences.

This is coming from a person that has a DBXL how much R&D did losi put in on that?????? None at all it was bought and paid for no testing was done on losi end that why they are famous for their drive train and pins problems but there is a fix for that also its called upgrade the same with all RTR Ready To Repair.

good post rcspeedmart , I was not paying any attention to socal , I can appreciate the input , but it had nothing to do with any of the questions .

You mean spend it on an Agama? The original 8ight layout design originated with their manufacturing. 2006-2007. Losi won their first 1/8 scale championship in 2007 with the same layout as the Agama A8. That is where this design stems from. It is not patented by TLR in any way shape or form.....I had issues with my 5ive T too (center diff. output wear and fuel line air leaks). KM is built in China, purchased from NYC. The Losi is built in China, purchased from Illinois.

dear SoCalMX please don't bash on my x2 I realize I only paid half of what you did and got way more for my money. sure I had to fix a leaking diff cup . I bet you took yours apart to and put the oil you like in so that really is no big deal. in the end they are the same trucks and id bet a lot of money most of the parts come from the same factory. Except all the free upgrades the X2 comes with. We are all here to share our fun times with RC toys. there really is no need to bash what someone else buys the Chinese get all the money anyway.

SoCal stated at first that he had nothing against Rovan or King Motors and now he is bashing us because he bought a "used" Losi that some else upgrade and did what ever to . Try comparing a Losi to a KM out of the box . The only problem with my KM was center diff leaking and all I had to do was put thicker oil in it . If it wasn't leaking I would have done that anyways . Had the km been a kit I wouldn't have any problems at all because I would have put it together. If you are going to try and talk crap about our KM's go somewhere else we do not need you here SoCal this is a tread for the KM guys to discuss and help each other with our rides . We do not need any Losi fan boys on here bashing what we have NOT COOL AT ALL .

Hi,

I'm new to 1/5 R/C's however got the King Motor from RCmodelz.co.uk (rude and poor customer service) however that's for another day.

I'm on the 4th tank of fuel after running it in as recommended and snapped the pull starter, so brought a new one and fitted it however since I've done so I can not get be engine to cut out, she runs sweet etc but can't get it to cut out unless I starve the fuel supply.

So I took engine cover off and realigned the coil using the business card trick the get the spacing correct so it's not rubbing on the fly wheel, however still had no joy. Being an electrician and having electrical knowledge I tested he coil using my Ohm meter and all test are spot on (going by the manufactures guidelines) the engine is a fuelie 30.5cc 4 bolt.

Anyone who could help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot
