My wife and I both have Asus laptops. Hers is thin and weighs about 3 pounds. Mine is a freakin' tank. Weighs about 18 pounds. I used the play World of Warcraft almost every night for 8 years on it. I don't play any more but this laptop is still going strong and does everything I need from it.

Short version: We both like Asus laptops
 
Nice.

I just read an old review on my laptop. It weighs in at 9.5 pounds. It sure felt like it was 20 pounds with it on your lap after 4 hours of raiding.
Here is a site to check out. They do ship international but warranty is void and they do declare value for customs.

My last lap top which was a used dell ..already a few years old .?... lasted me atleast the last 5 if not more years ? so not bad going?

I'm running a hp beats audio edition. 16 GB ram 1TB solid state hard drive, I5 processor, I paid around $150.00 for it new. Had it for years now. The hard drive was a upgrade done by a friend. I don't know how much it cost as he owed me a favor. I had Dell and a Asus before, liked the Asus. Hated the Dell.

Not keen on apple stuff tbh.?..although I've never had any thing from them due to there silly high prices ?
 
Apple is a BS company that should be avoided at all cost. not only do they lie to costumers about repairs, design their products to be hard to repair (they want you to buy new) and they use software to slow down older hardware to "encourage people to upgrade". But worst of all...they lobby to remove peoples right to repair poop they have bought and paid for. With apple what you are paying for is bog standard PC hardware with an insanely overpriced case, screen and unix based operating system. Then there is the workers BS but who arent guilty of that. If you want to not have child labour in your Win PC or Mac go for Asus parts. Asus is almost entirely made by robots.

The one thing I don't think I have seen in this thread is. What are your needs? That should drive your purchance above all else. Bigger numbers doesn't always mean better. A fine example could be a gaming laptop. 4k screens are all the rage so they are put into everything. Unfortunately if you like to game, you are going to have a hard to finding a laptop GPU that can actually run modern games in 4K (if you are cost conscious) and then you will often look at a scaled down image. The problem with diode screens is that they only really look good at their native resolution.

All depends on how much you want to spend. I have a Dell XPS13 (New in August) and a Alienware 15 R3(3.5yrs old).

Z everyone is entitled to an opinion. But what are you basing your opinion on. I've built gaming computers and they get very expensive very quick depending on what you want to do with it. The last computer I built cost me 5 grand to build. It was water cooled with dual video cards 32gig of memory with 2 500gig hard drives in a raid configuration. I own laptops now. I like my pc to be portable now .

Idk, maybe my 2 were just shite. One Lenovo and one dell, both sucked and we're extremely slow, an my dad's 3 HP's were also slow. Im not gunna say all are, but the ones I've used were ?
But im not here to argue, just my 2 cents

When it comes to computers you get what you pay for a lot of the time. Also some times you get a lemon just like buying cars.

If you are a serious gamer you not buying a lapto??? but if like mike you storing pics vids surfing for porn?? music play back then you don't need all the bells and whistles to ?? I have a Samsung galaxy tab S2 not new now but dose everything a basic laptop can do and super portable ??
 
I have some sort of samsung tab as well, it's old, but works well. It's the 10 inch screen one. Battery don't last really long anymore, but long enough for two full length kid movies (more or less) I don't have the room for a desktop so between the tablet and the laptop I do fine. Truth be told my 3 year old works the tablet better then me.
My wife is big into apple products. Shes had the same lap top going 10 years now. The screen is cracked and has a weird multi colored lines going through but it works. She also has (had ) an I pad 2. I was really impressed with it at first, as we both got tablets at about the same time. Unfortunately for her, our boy bumped it off the coffee table and there went the screen. ? guy at the apple store told her in so few words, it's a old pos not worth fixing. As far as I'm concerned were done with apple once her laptop goes. I can get her something for less then half the cost that will suit her needs just fine, that doesn't gets snarky comment about being obsolete everytime a new product come out, and we need some sort of service. Honestly if I didnt have friends that were into computers and online gaming that didnt mind giving us a good deals on stuff I prolly wouldnt have a computer, as my phone and tablet will do 80 or 90% of what I need.
