Can you try to get a better angle of the fulcrum lever? I checked mine with the gauge and it sits level with the half circle casting mark . Does your sit flush at the area i put an arrow to?20201209_151102.webp

Hm. Id leave that alone for now then... whats your air filter look like as far as how much oil is on it..is it oiled? If you squeeze it is there alot of oil on your hands? Take a Picture if you don't mind

I'll get a pic tomorrow but its not overly oily, I was checking for a spark and not getting one, using a multimeter I have continuity between the tip where the ht lead goes and the thread of the spark plug, I'm pretty sure the spark plug is faulty?

So I tested the continuity on the spark plug again today when its cold and there is none between the electrode and ground side, seems when its warm its shorting out. I have a due plug due any day so hopefully that will sort it

Ok so I skimmed through, wet plug and the carb setting the op is at, is normal. don't screw with the metering level unless you have the gauge. Always nice to keep a spare plug on hand for such times.
Think the guys have you well in hand. I'm going back out to the mountains......

Ok so there is like 3 guys that have gotten new 2.0 at our local track and all 3 of them have had troubles with theres not running. One would run and after it got hot it would start to idle real high the others would run like crap. Not saying yours is or would be like these but we put a new insolater and gaskets and carb on them and they run just fine now. Tried insulator and gaskets first then new carbs.

I'm wondering if the carb is faulty, it seems to rev ok with the L needle about 2.5 turns out, might order a new carb as they are probably cheaper than posting the car back to where I got it from

That's way too much low screw. Your compensating for an air leak, and a rather big one at that. Take the carb off and make sure all the gaskets and what not are there and on properly. Take pictures as you go. Call horizon when you find the problem. They will stand good for whatever issues you have.

I took everything off, cleaned everything, I've got a gasket between the head and the insulator then another gasket between that and the carb, everything is flat and bolts tight (I'm a cnc machinist for a formula 1 team so quite mechanically minded), I've tried spraying some brake cleaner round the carb when it's running and nothing, its driving me nuts! Could it just be that the carb is faulty?
