on 2s lipo now with 13/50 gearing its doing 30 + mph i recon and its nuts, you have to slowly slowly ease on the throttle or it just spins out as it, for people who don't know stock gearing is 10/50.

i want to try 15/49 gearing on 2s lipo as i know its got the grunt to pull that gearing i would also like to try that gearing on 3s lipo and ill make a 17t pinion when i get desert truck and the 3s lipo.

this is the 3s lipo i want to try, it will be silly but i have to try it  (it will not fit the micro t im using now)

http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB0873

this battery will be more relistic its only 2s lipo but a 300mah, the 180mah im using now gives me 12 mins wityh alot of full throttle so this should give long run times (it will not fit the micro t im using now)

http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB0871

but like ive said its nuts on 2s lipo 8,4v fully charged the 3s 12.6v fully charged would be sick, more then 50% more voltage then the truck in stock form out of the box, its stupidly over powered now the extra 4.2v will put it over the edge but hey i have to try it for a laugh.

i also want to get one of these to see what it can do

its been a while since ive posted up a video, today we where messing with the micro t in the back yard and noitced on of those cool camera optical illusions so we made this video cause it was funny the car spins alot faster but the video camera slows it down when the car is spinning on the video it looks like its flickering or spiinning the opisite way, its spinning way faster in realy life just thought it was cool.

I take it you want ot do the tyre testing for the new F1 season? !!!!
Wear rate must be pretty high there, but fun had by all.

Difficult to put that (Losi micro generic) truck into a class really. It has one all of its own !!
Al.

the tyres wore most of the pins off the tread with in the first few battery packs but these tyres are still hanging in there after 42 battery packs :w00t:

well a couple of other things turned up today, rpm front bumper and the alloy micto dt front shocker tower, ive pritty much got every thing apart from a after market chassis to complete the build, just got to wait for the micro dt to get here should be here tomorow hopfuly.

last night i brought my old man a Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo VXL Brushless truck and couple of lipos, im very intrested in getting one myself, ill see how his is first, if its any good ill get one, if not ill stick to my next rc plan.

well some more stuff turned uptoday, so ive got every thing now to build my micro-t back to stock and all the parts i need to hopup my micro-dt and some billet conectors to fix the broken ones on the losi brushless system.

well i few post ago i said i had a win on ebay, i eneded up scoring a losi micro desert truck from ebay with no radio and no charger, with a faulty reciver and a stock battery that will not charge for ROUND $46 AUD well it was hidding in the letter box and was delivered after the stuff from my last post.

well i put the stock battery on some charge / discharge cycles and it seams to be holding up well, i also removed the 27mhz cystal from the stock micro dt and used the 27 mhz cystal from my micro t im no longer using turned on the losi radio and the micro dt and it all works, so im wrapped.

the micro desert truck is in mint condition only a couple very very light marks on it so happy as, also the 15t pinion tunred up so i can do some speed runs with that on the brushless micro t.

any way here are some pictures

and so the build begins

ive ran a few battery packs throught the micro dt nice little truck, less wheelie action then the micro dt and a tad slower cornering but still a great truck.

i finshed building the micro-t back to stock, with just a couple of upgrades, alloy battery tray/heat sink, firm rear springs and bearings for the front wheel,s and rear hubs using new chassis and some newer parts from the micro-dt.

ive started building the micro-dt using all alloy parts and a stock chassis, but i might change my mind yet and stick to the original plan and build an all alloy micro-t for a shelfy and use the micro-dt as a every day basher, ill see what happens, as i like the micro-t better then the micro-dt in stock form.

well i finshed working on my team losi micro-dt, i have installed 10250kv losi brushless set up 13t pinion and 49t spur gear, threaded axels, bearings, steel dog bones, spektrum dx3e radio and spektrum sr3500 receiver with the losi 7.4v 2s 180mah lipo

ive installed these alloy parts, front pivot point, front camber links, steering block, adjustable shocks, rear arms, rear camber links, rear hubs, rear shock tower, engine gard, gear cover, wheelie bar, battery tray/heat sink and so on.

heres some pic,s

i forgot to mention i installed losi firm rear shock springs on the stock shocks and the rpm wide front bumper on the losi micro-dt, its good as it just fits under the desrt truck body so you cant see it, the desert truck will still wheelie with 13/49 gearing when it has traction, bit less of a wheelie machines then the micro-t and turns difrent maby noty as zippy but still loads of fun.

ive ran 2 stock minh batteries through the dt when i first got it and now ive ran 3 lipos through it with the losi brushless system, the losi brushless system its doing good as the motor and esc has done around 30 battery packs and the losi 7.2 2s 180mah lipo has done around 35 charges, i might do some speed runs today down the road with 15/49 gearing and see how i go

holiday was excellent, had a scary moment in the car, aqua planed at 110km/h but didnt hit anything. got 1,150kms out of a single tank which I was very impressed with.

kids had a ball at the theme parks and I met with colin @ CFR, got my front fg tuning disc brake kit installed and a few other bits and peices so very happy with how it turned out.

how did your speed run go?

1.150km a tank is sweet my old falcon will pull 700 a tank if your nice to it, the theme parks would of cost you a packet as back in 2000 it was like $150 for 2 adults.

the speed run whent ok no footage, but i was drag racing my falcon up and down an old back road was getting aprox 55kmh with almost full throttle but the road was ruff and the micro-dt did a few flips and when it hit the little cats eye,s on the middle of the road well it would starting flying lols.

i actualy broke the little clear plastic steering links on the dt they are flexible clear plastic that moves with the suspention, it seams the micro-dt is heavyer and slightly bigger as i never broke these with the micro-t no matter what i did, but i made new ones out of small cable ties so the car was back in action atfer 30 mins lols

Good thing with those steering links, if you've any old 'off cuts' from other Lexan bodies, that's all they are - make your own !!

I've gone for the Hot Racing (I think) set which gives you 0, 1, 2 degrees toe in, but they bend.
I tighten these on on-road blasting to tie down the front end.

Still amazing for such a tiny truck !!
Al.

theme parts was $99 unlimited usage for 6 months per person which I thought was excellent. the wife is a travel agent so she hears about all these specials :)

55kms ait bad! i don't think my FG does that LOL but ive geared it right down for the small tracks I run on.

my fg mt slightly geared up was good for 90kmh only in a straight line though,,,

well i sold the red micro, ill keep the blue micro-dt as its its great fun with my daughter, i wanted to buy a hpi vorza but my wife said since i brought my old man a 1/16 vxl e-revo i was not aloud to out do him or buy any thing better and bigger, so i brought one and me being a tight arse i brought it from over seas to save some coin but ill have to wait a couple of weeks for it to get here.

i also brought a 1 x harness for 2 packs in series, 1 x harness for 2 packs in Parallel and a few diffent conectors, basicly the same stuff i brought my old man, for power i got an extra stock nimh and 2 x zippy 2s 2200mah lipos
