Making gaskets??

Considering making my own gaskets ???Years back made for Honda vf .....a few tappet cover gaskets for some cars I had??
Sure with some decent gasket papper and a hollow punch or two I'd have my manifold gasket in hand??

There's also the option of substituting RTV type sealant. Obviously is certain circumstances you need a specific thickness paper gasket to maintain assembled compatibility, but for many situations RTV is the way to go.

Nice bike ,I had the 84 VF 700 Sabre in 1991 ,it had 42.000 miles on it ,an still ran great with out oil leaks or issues ,
it would hit 135 with OD ,it was more of a highway bike an use to use it to commute from the bay area to central
Calif ,I raced a couple 84 Camaro's before on the I-5 ,lol ,them frekin Camaros passed me at 135 mph!....

You get plenty of practice cause they blow out real quick.
The only place they work is on the inlet side.
Spray a bit of Hylomar on before you assemble.

Any auto store will have gasket paper but what thickness are you going to use?

Looks good. See making gaskets out of actual gasket paper isn't that hard, when you got nitrile rubber, ohhh does that suck ?

what ill do before i install the gasket is apply a bit of 2stroke oil on the gasket (little smear of oil)
