4-shoe elcon clutch isnt working good on my new engine

Dude, that sucks! (n) Those things aren't cheap! I got the Lauterbacher offroad clutch on DDM's DOTD for a ripping good price, and I'm super happy with it, no fade, the shoes still look new and my engagement hasn't gotten soggy on me once. Once I get an enclosed TR carrier for my dune runs, I'll share any first hand experience with how well it holds up in that scenario.

the boys with the elcon cars and MCDs and so on UK cars all run low hp 23-26 cc. the euro boys play by different rules. here stateside we are HP monsters and the euro spec parts most time do not stand a chance.........

That is why the FS clutch is in two sizes, normal and BIG like in larger goped clutch box

I do recall rcmax shipping their motors with FS already on them

From picture the 4-shoe elcon and lauterbacher offroad looks quite identical. Cant tell if they are.
The metal parts on the lauterbacher looks thicker.
Top picture is lauterbacher.

on road clutches will have a different frame weight than off road as part of their tuning for spool up control and then tuned with the springs and weights and shoes for a final spec . there is alot more going on than meets the eye.

Yeah that's only with under 71cc though, 71cc and up have rcmax's 110mm clutch system now, everything under (the 55, 65, 40, 46) has the UFC clutches (which are very much like the FS clutches)
I do hope the people know the FS shoe kits are as old as dirt, They have been in weedwackers for years!!!! Lol Lol.........

I got a old john deere 210g weedtrimmer that has the exact FS shoe kit in it as the one I bought from Detroit P boys!

The UFC part is the spring. I've bought a few FS clutches and the UFC one is exactly the same as the others, except the 9k rpm spring. The spring is fun for bashing but absolutely useless for getting it around a track.

I love the 6k spring and a soft setting on my PCSC , Still good launch , no wheel spin, front wheels on ground= CONTROL

I was running the 6k for a wile and swapped up to the 8k. I found for my use (bashing) I liked it better.
With the slipper clutch ,Its lets the motor get on pipe quicker and when the slipper does lock down you are aready going quick enough to not spin out or have crazy wheelies. Without the clutch on I too would be running the 8k

On 1/10 & 1/8 scale ,a slipper clutch serves more than one purpose!

It relieves the strain on the trans. ,spur & clutch bell gear ,an launch control ,it especially relieves in big air
jump landings ,rough terrain ,an that hard throttle launch on tarmac or street runs!
A slipper is a must for stuff like this!
