Where abouts is Fife wez? Ive worked in Scotland a few times in Glasgow then had another job up in Inverness - that was some drive, 9 feckin hrs :w00t: but not over familiar with places up there :o

Yes it is friendly on here! Ive had parts donated too :D

Fife is the bit that looks like a dogs head...between Edinburgh and Dundee..
I lived 40miles north of Inverness when I was younger and we travelled to South Wales alot to visit family..
now in Fife I still visit Wales and now Also Kent as thats where my wife is from..
So I know what you mean about 9 hour drives..:sleep::sleep:

Cheers bud
likewise I will get the clips sent off to you in the morning.

Had a bit of time in the workshop yesterday and drilled out the engine mounts to m6 and also found my 16t layshaft gear was chewed up so replace it with a 14t gear that I had so hopefully it wont be too wheelie happy..

and drilled out my front a + b uprights to m5 and screwed them in tight
also clamped down the front brace and bolted that up..the front end has no flew in it at all now when brakes are applied so hopefully this will help my front brakes.

fitted up my bargain tuning layshaft brake and set that up so hopefully it is going to stop next time its runnning.

after doing all this I went to refit the rear wing and the bit the R clip fits through snapped off in my hand so I will need to either buy new wing mount or make something up that suits (with money as it is I will be making something I think)

Nice 1 mate :D
1 of my wing mounts is going the same way - its proper chewed up but the bottom hole is still good fortunately.

hhhmmmm or maybe machine up an alloy post with wing hole and fit via an m3 stud into the plastic.....

hhhmmmm I really have to buy some more alloy stock...lol
also need to get myself a bottle of argon so I can fire up my tig welder...

Well its up and running again...going like a scalded cat with a firework up its butt
still no wing mount though...

I will maybe sort something out for it this weekend if I get a chance...

my only problem is grip roll ..full lock and travelling too quick results in a very violent roll never had it to this extent on any other rc....especially a 2wd..normally they just slide the front end..

I thought the baja block tread tyres would have sorted it and I was going to get some cos the marder spikes are really bad :( On marder no 1 a front anti roll bar (no rear) & 2000wt shock oil has improved the handling big time but its still there. Also aligning the wheels and setting the toe and camber helps. I have a PM from Mike1970 with some settings for you to try - will forward it on now ;)

I have firmed it up to stop the dig in and its helped a bit but now it just rolls over without the dig in. I was hoping it would just allow the sideways slide to start but nope it always rolls.
It might be due to my last 3 cars all being 4wd and I'm just out of practice in running a 2wd.

im the exact opposite, im use to 2wd, i still cant get my 4wd to corner properly but allot better than when I first got it. i just want the back end to slide more, getting too much understeer at the moment.

I raced 2wd about 20 yr ago and stayed with it for about 4yr but the grip of the 4wd's bit me and I changed over to them fairly quick.we mainly raced on carpet or polished wood floors so we had alot to gain on the wood using a 4wd

I did bash a 2wd stadium truck (nitro ) for about 10 yr whilst racing the 4wds

but for the last 8yr I have only bashed and its always been 4wd nitro's.

maybe I need to find myself a slippy surface to play on until I get used to it again.

I had the Baja out again today:D:D:D

And its broke again....:mad::mad::mad:

snapped a front shock shaft.. so I thought thats a bugger I will rebuild the other shocks that came with it as spares(aint got a clue what they are off)
so back out playing It did the same again so I have 2 different types of shocks with a broken shaft each:(:(:(

also broken my rear wing mount good and proper this time.

so I'm going to order a huge roll of bubble wrap and cover the car in it to see if it will help:lol::lol::lol::lol:
