I had the Baja out again today:D:D:D

And its broke again....:mad::mad::mad:

snapped a front shock shaft.. so I thought thats a bugger I will rebuild the other shocks that came with it as spares(aint got a clue what they are off)
so back out playing It did the same again so I have 2 different types of shocks with a broken shaft each:(:(:(

also broken my rear wing mount good and proper this time.

so I'm going to order a huge roll of bubble wrap and cover the car in it to see if it will help:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Have you got too much oil in them bud? You should be able to push it all the way in and it should rebound approx 5mm without the spring fitted of course!!

Yep that's about the right amount of rebound I had set. If anything I had less. It did have a very violent roll both times.

jeez sounds like your one hard bashers mate, nice work ;)

ive got a complete set of baja shocks that im selling if your interested.

cheers sperera yep when it goes it goes hard and thats the way it should be:D

sadly unless they are going for penny's I wont be able to get funds together soon..just spent a few quid on parts so none spare ...lol:(

Anybody got any pics of front Anti roll bar and how it fits...I just got a second hand front anti roll bar and there does not seem to be anywhere to connect the links too.??

Here's mine matey

cheers Andy that was quick..

are they mounted to the top arms??? I don't have any holes in my top arms so not sure how to connect it up.. I guess I can make bits and drill holes to make it all work together..

On the ball there wasnt I :lol:

Yes its hung from the top arms and sits in the groove across the bulkhead with the 2 No retaining screws holding it in place

the bulk head is ready to take the roll bar and should be fine for that.
I will sort something out for the links to connect the top arms..

Also need to put in an order for a new shock shaft as I cant run it with out the shock fixed..lol

Mod it to a mono shock design like the old tamiya hotshot :cool2:

now there's an idea....not a very good one but still an idea..probably cheaper buying the new shaft....:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

are there any shocks available out there with larger diameter shafts...not sure I trust the 4mm ones again.. or will I have to machine up new shafts and modify the seal carriers?

I noticed the FG alloy ones still use the same 4mm shafts...?

Not sure mate. Ive never had a prob with the shafts snapping nor have my 2 mates & we all run FG's.......well only once when 1 of the lads over filled his shocks but that was his own fault :w00t: You must bash it to death :scared::D

bashed to death.....thats what they are for is it not????

I have an 1/8th scale nitro and thats also running 4mm shafts so I guess thats why I'm thinking the FG ones are rather small.

If there is nothing out there I might just get another 4mm shaft and if that breaks I will make up either 5 or 6mm shafts in stainless steel.

FG don't make any shocks that come with anything bigger than 4mm shafts.

I think the one you snapped was a rarity, never had a problem with any of the shock shafts before so I don't think it will happen to you again unless another 1/5 slams into you or something.

cheers guys..

I will just order up a new 4mm one and see how it goes..
I will be glad when enough time has past and I have a good box of spares like I normally do with my cars..

I might just have to keep it planted on the ground for the near future. might save on a few breakages......but then again...:lol::lol:

im the exact opposite, im use to 2wd, i still cant get my 4wd to corner properly but allot better than when I first got it. i just want the back end to slide more, getting too much understeer at the moment.

To get more slide in the rear you would have to change the gearing in the rear diff

I was in the workshop today and found my front section of cage is broken again...second set of front tubes I've broken:mad::mad::mad::mad:
