I have a tr on my 30.5 obr and its been flawless but the one on my 34 obr doesn't hold up but I'mma thinking it's all in the technique for what I'm reading here
Probably very related to technique indeed I have been using the stock pull start of 29cc and lower for quite a lot of time, and they are still fine.
Im in a point where I can start the engine in just a single pull flicking the arm about 30cm

I haven't had an issue with the stock starter either, but it's nice to have other options. I think the main selling point is the bling factor and the "easy starting " feature. I had a rovan easy start once, it was on my 70cc project, and while it being a pos and breaking after 5 pulls (not a high compression issue, plenty of others have reported the same thing), it made pulling over that big female dog pretty easy. So an easy start on a 34cc and such would be super easy ?
I'm fact ,if I were to continue that project I would actually consider this

I wouldn't have done the metal pawl , it will chew your flywheel over time. But for me, I only had to replace the rope once (my fault, was pissed off and pulled it way too hard lol) . Replaced it and went back at it for a few more gallons then sold the motor lol.

Are these billet pullstarts needed with bigger motors? I've gone through, maybe, 3 or 4 of them in my whole life. Extras are only $15. I'm not seeing a reason to spend that type of money. Besides having a cool laser etching.

Some people go through pull starts like Zed changes his socks. When you start getting into the higher compression engines, they can be hard in the pull start. Again it boils down to technique more so then the actual starter. And let us remember fid has had a good billet pull start out for years now. So if their china pull start works just fine, I'm sure the rc max will work just fine.
