Hello everyone, just found this site today and I was shocked at the lesser of sites about the losi DBXL 2.0 truck.
I have a couple of questons one is about what oil to use, I am a RC plane and heli pilot and have owned a few Gasser planes i always used redline oil. is that ok for these truck engines? I know its got a Zenoah® 32cc engine in it ,my engines were DA, DLE, I know guys who run same oil in the GP engines.
wasn't sure if anything is different with these truck that need something else.

Also I understand the truck has a 800cc tank, but i can't figure out that to gallons, anyone know how many times you could fill that up with a 1 gallon fuel jug? i am trying to figure out if i should get a 1 or 2 gallon one for the truck, I see folks say you can drive for like 30 minutes on a tank.

Thank you for any advice.

I use the redline two stroke oil in mine with no issues. You'll get a little over 4 tanks fulls out of a gallon and how long that'll last all depends on your driving style. But you can easily coax more than half an hour of run time out of these things. Normally I get bored before the tank runs dry.

Also if you haven't already found this out remove the four steering bellcrank screws along with the two little grub screws at the rear driveshaft cup and threadlock them for some reason losi didn't do this and they like to back out very quickly.

Thanks for the fast reply, awesome.. and yeah I'm kinda figuring i probably be able to get 2 runs out of it on one tank.
Thanks, I normally go over all the screws making sure they are tight but i will e sure to double check those and do that do you use Blue, green or red?
A buddy of mine has this truck but i only seen him out once with it at the flying field it is how i got to wanting one. i didn't ask him much about anything and i don't see him often.

I plan to do the dyn remote kill switch, not sure i will do it at the start, kinda sucks having take a brand new truck apart.

I used red (permatex 271) haven't had any issues with them coming out. and you're better off doing the killswitch sooner than later. All it takes is one run away. Why they don't ship with one is quite a mystery.

Does this vehicle have a known issue of uncontrolled responses? if so then yes why heck isn't it included stock.
is the TX crappy? i own other vehicles and all of them seem fine. I also have a DX5C i will maybe use with this one if the stock tx is crappy.

All 5th scales on a regulated track are REQUIRED to have a kill switch. Weight +speed= very bad accidents. For recreation and hobby enjoyment off a track it is wise to run a killswitch to protect yourself from lawsuits and a hefty bill if you manage not to hurt anyone or anyone's personal property. It has nothing to do with the radios it has everything to do with chance, a chance your linkage hangs up. A chance your servo decides not to go back to neutral after a wide open throttle run as well as that slight chance something happens beyond your control.

Thanks for the input. I understand. All large airplanes are also suppose to have electronic kills also. Some people use them some don't. Crazy you can get a airplane one for $20 these truck ones seem $50 or more.

I will likely mostly be running it on my property.

Wow that was scary for him I'm sure..he didn't have a chance of catching it and if it had hit him he would been hurt. I accidentally hit the throttle reverse on my 6s Notorious and it ran right into my leg with pants on and it put a spot on my leg that was there for about a month. These bigger trucks have some force.
I have been running rc trucks since the early 80s and have seen plenty of 10th scales take off back when we ran on 27mhz. The CB radios would over take your control. They were tiny in size to what we have now.

Do most of you guys run air filter covers ? sorry not sure what they are called. But i see them on some folks trucks.
does the ones for the 5ive T fit? Guess anything for the same engine would fit either truck.
i see some changing out the stock filter for aftermarket ones. Also see guys changing to a Pipe rather then stock muffler, guessing it has better flow or just sounds better.

Sucks doesn't it? I had a nitro onroad race a real car up the street while it was under the car. Let's just say run aways are interesting moments that you will never forget as what happens you cannot make up if it never happend.
Had a nitro rig...lost signal straight towards a curb...not a 90° hard edge..but a rolled edge curb. Sent my rig up directly at neighbors car in their driveway. Thank the heavens it sailed over their car and landed on its lid on the other side. I couldn't do that again if I were trying. All I could think of is what explanation would cause the owner not to kill me if it made impact lol.
