I was hoping to get out last night with the firehammer..But my son had problems with
his nitro starting,,,I found the problem for him..pin hole in fuel line..replaced the fuel line
it fired right up and he was happy then..So I should have the new dog bones and rear drive cups today..So I will try to get the firehammer fired up..Some more bling is on order
should be here any day..yeah I will post pictures...AKA Slawhammer

Ok..UPDate: I got all wheel collars done..also had to hand file the drive blocks to fit the wheels..They will be mounted soon...I have a question about rear Diff? Fg8483 comes
complete with gears..Will that work in my firehammer?Or do I need to get the FG8484
and put the firehammer diff gears in that?I want a stronger drive train..I can get by with what's in the truck for now...I replaced the lay shaft and transfer gear...waiting on new
diff gears...other wise all gears will be new..Thanks for your replies..AKA Slawhammer

Bigger The Better: Thanks for you great information on the Rear Diff..I will get the FG8484
I also want to get alloy frt steering knuckles...I see Fg1411 should work..
I asked my son's to use there credit card..They said one or the other"diff case or steering"
Well my old diff will work for now..So maybe just get the steering knuckles...Any suggestions on this..Please reply....Thank You ..AKA Slawhammer

Shiny: Well maybe you can use the screen idea like I did...Like I said going to try it
But may have to use some thing else for support....So now any one like to make a suggestion as to alloy steering knuckles?I need some answers here please.....
Thanks for all your help...AkaSlawhammer

Bigger the Better: I got my son's to order the Fg8484 alloy diff case for me today..
thanks for the input on the rear diff for the gears...
I should have some more new bling in the morning......
I really need to know about the front steering knuckles..want to get those bearings in a alloy mount...Thanks for all the replies..AKASlawhammer

Im going to pick-up a set of adapters for the wheels, I can run the HPI Baja rims, that are bead-locks on the Hammer.
I hate glueing tires and having the tires wear out and needing to get a new set of rims and tires.
Also I will be able to run the HPI paddles on there also.

For about $60 its well worth it.
Also they have larger and stronger hexes.

Teamchrome: Those are cool adapters..I will have to check into that for next year
when I will need to replace tires..Thanks for sharing..AKASlawhammer

Here are some new pics..
I used a set of HPI Bajas rear axels and Dremeled out the Hammer rear hubs to make room for the HPI bearings so I could fit them in to use the rear wheels.
Works great Ive have several tanks through so far.
These will work until I get thw adapters in.

It's cool, but I have the MT so I won't be doing that any time soon. My Baja is my buggy baby.

CSP1971: Yup two different applications for playing....As for me I can only make due
with what I have now..I have too try and get the best I can from this firehammer..
I guess from all the rebuild ..You would say all eggs in one basket..I figured up last nite
that there is 1500 bux now invested in the firehammer...I really do enjoy all the replies and advise from every one...You guys make my RC world better every day I hear from you..
Many thanks...AKASlawhammer

Ok good sunny afternoon..so my son and I took out our toys..His nitro my firehammer
Mine started right up..let idle for 3 to 5 minutes..made a couple carb adjustments for the high side..couple passes on the black top..So now off too the grass area..bam punch the throttle..the front end comes off the ground for about 5 feet ..digging the exhaust stinger in the dirt..yup quit..Dugg out the dirt from stinger..fired right up..made a couple short runs
seems good....ok let's hit the electronic kill button on TX see what happens..yeah instant kill of the engine...fried right up again..made a couple high speed runs..on the last run turned off the TX to have no power...Yeah instant kill of the engine...Now ya know I am happy as a pig in S**T about this working...Ok back to some more high runs this time out about 100 yards..looking good..turned around coming back firehammer had problems..would just rev's up high and not move...Dam thought broke another clutch spring..That red spring get's with the program right now..Well looking at the firehammer
I see all screws missing from the back plate..I know I used blue lock tite..Well any way I am very happy with the run today..Got too check out the kill switch...That is a great
must have item..Maybe the engine mount moved some also..Used blue lock tite the as well..So now this Monday or Tuesday I should have the alloy Fg diff case..It will all be new..case,internal gears.ss sleeve,48 th diff gear..mounted in alloy mounts..I am going to use RED lock tite this time..for all of it including the engine mounts..Only one worse is green..you will not get any thing loose if you use that...So that's the lastest....
Thanks for your replies...AKASlawhammer

Any pics??? :)

I drove my Firehammer MT today for a short while, very short. Trying to get a Pico switch working correctly and having a helluva time. The FG monster tires are awesome.
