CSP1971:No pictures..Just the screws are missing..where you screw one in the the large
engine mount and the other's in the plastic mounts for the rear diff..I will have that solved
in a day or two..with the new alloy mounts..What TX you got?I am using a spectrum dx3
I just followed the owners manual for set up for third channel using (A) switch..
I did a complete rebind,Like brand new..If you have the same TX you have to do it on model 1 for the 3rd channel..
Will not work for other 2 models..I tried that cuz was using model 1 position for my nitro..Not sure what you are using for TX...I will just get another TX for nitro..
Glad you like your tires...Thanks for your reply..AkaSlawhammer

Gotta love the kill switches..
I run them in both the Baja and the Hammer.
I have 4th switch that was made by Diemaster.
Its this one..http://www.davesmotors.com/store/product2505.html
I like how it kills in any situation.
These were made to work with the Spektrum radios.

Good to hear your running and having fun.
Please stay away from the RED Locktight. Stay blue.:o
I also have used the green.. Might as well weld stuff together if you use that stuff.. Very strong.

Teamchrome:Hey my friend ..yup first time got too check out the kill switch..
I got the tgn or tngkill switch..Same with this one..any way it's cool and a must..
Yeah its running any way..I will have the rest of the bugs worked out here in a day or two.
I use blue lock tite..It's not holding...Maybe use red on engine mounts..I don't want that engine to shift..Trying to figure out a support bracket to keep the engine from moving
or the flex at the transfer gear..Thanks for the reply..Good to hear from ya..

I have the diemaster Pico switch, I've done the soldering myself. I have my DX3 set up correctly, after talking to Timmahh, I think it may be a bad solder joint on the kill switch (manual one). I have to look today sometime.

Slaw: Don't use Red.

CSP1971:Yup a bad solder joint will do it...I will use blue 1 more time,,But if engine mounts
come loose ..It will be red lock tite..I can't afford to replace the transfer gear and diff gear
each time I try to get a 10 to15 minutes of run time on the firehammer..Thers has to be a better way to keep the engine from moving..or some say the flex of the chassie at that point...I will figure out a better way to anchor the engine from moving...Glad you liked your tires..Can't wait till I try mine..Thanks for your reply..AkaSlawhammer

I had the worst time when I first purchased my FH with the engine mounts moving, even with loctite. Now, I don't use loctite and they never come loose. Kinda weird. Although I have tightened one of the screws to the point of not being able to get it out now twice.

The only issue I have is with the transmission brace (see old post: https://www.largescaleforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=810). The one screw that I crank down into the large alloy mount still comes loose on occasion, no matter how much loctite I use. In fact, I stripped the hole out in the alloy mount last year and had to rethread for a larger screw.

I saw teamchrome had a fix on here for his, I'm going to have to give it a try. (https://www.largescaleforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2541)

I think the way you have the picture posted, the bottom part of the pic should be facing the front of the truck.

CSP1971: I was not sure of the tire which way to mount..seem if turned around on the back would enable wheelies..Now that's another thing I see I am going to have to and try to make...They want to much for them aftermarket..I would rather use the money else where..Yeah that tranny brace I am talking about...Teamchromes looks good for his idea.
you can tie in the lower engine case behind the flywheel..hole goes all the way thru..checked that out doing the screen mod...Well go more stuff today..I did order new engine mount screws With washers..I will get some thing figured out..Thanks for the reply and info on the brace....AKASlawhammer

I had the same problem with my first Hammer.. That tranny brace was a pain!!
And yes, it was the ONE screw on mine also.
I switched over to all allen head screws and it helps.
Ill do the same on this one.
The brace I made has helped alot so far.
The only problem I have now is keeping the front end on the ground.. I still running a stock muffler without the stuffing in it. Must be the Baja tire set-up, I run the Proline Badlands on the HPI rims.

Teamchrome:Yup I did use a allen head and blue lock tite..But once again screw gone..
Hey good tire set up..You can add a pound of steel to your front bumper..that should keep it down..LOL----Just joking with ya..Good to hear from ya..Thanks for the reply...
There must be other people with this same problem.I want to hear from ya..Need ideas
on this....AKASlawhammer

Ok..You guys with firehammer's ..I did some research on alloy front steering knuckles..
I get about 10 e-mails on this subject..The FG1411 will work for the firehammer
if you intrested....www.powerslideracing.com.AU has instock alloy rear diff mounts and alloy gear
plates and alloy rear up rights all for a good price..very good on shipping...
With all that stuff ..you will have a solid unit for you bearings not being in plastic..
Just thought I would pass that along...All replies welcome..AKASlawhammer

Ok I got another dumb question on this firehammer...I hate the gas cap thing...Any one try a different tank? Of maybe some kind if quick release cap if one is even made...
Like I mentioned before I will come up with a idea for engine mounts not moving and idea for tranny plate..All replies welcome..AKASlawhammer

Teamchrome: Real cool looking..Did you cut that body down?
Your pipe is different than mine..My pipe comes out around the roll
cage on driver's side...Was told any way that I have a DDM torque pipe..
I think the exhaust flange is bent..cuz real hard to aline up and the hold down by the gear
plate is super tight..I think the orig owner had to have smacked this pipe a few time before I got it..My luck..Don't think covered under any kind of warrenty..Good to hear from ya...Thanks..All replies welcome..AKASlawhammer

Teamchrome: I could be wrong on the selling of items..maybe just what he had left or extra
Some days when I have to relay on medication ,,mind gets a little foggy..and those days I do not even try to work on RC stuff..You know your friend better than I do..
I am not starting any kind of he said or she said..Like I mentioned I may have misunderdstood the whole thing..If that's the case I apoligise to your friend for any wrong doing..
I came to this forum for questions and answers..and every body had been great..
in sharing ideas..thanks for your reply..AKASlawhammer

I think you right.. A few folks said he has ended the selling.
