Pipe...Green lock tite does a great job for the bearings..being held in place..I use it for that as well.....As I mentioned before..I am not sure what I am going to do with the shocks....Maybe Fg would be the best to use....Too many things to think about...
there all important..just want is the most important to do...AKASlawhammer

Trip..I didn't think I was worth mentioning the pink..seeing it is almost usless for Rc use..
But thanks for the reminder...I have used all the others ..and still do...
I guess you could use the pink with screws in to plastic ..like you use super glue...
In my opinion super glue is better.......
when I use the locktite on threads and tighten down..I cover the screw or bolt head with
woman's clear nail polish.....If a screw or bolt tries to come loose you will see a crack of white.. where the nail polish was....AKASlawhammer

oh god.....lol

hahaha
btb your a funny man

was waiting for the 'pick up on that comment'
i have never used nail varnish on my screws but have often used lipstick on my servo horns to keep them nicely lubbed :lol::lol::lol:

Hah hah..laugh all you want..but it works...Bigger The better..you got the wrong colour
Has to be clear....dc..yeah I bet you use lip stick...on your horn.....
Any way guys this does work..so laugh all ya want.....I can take a Joke also....

elcon..yes..I spoke to a man named onno who own's Elcon and also race's over there
in the europian contries...That was back in sept of 2008...Exchanged e-mails...
Very top shelf stuff...I would give my left nut for a elcon drive train......
Glad you build is coming along .....every thing will have to wait for any more up grades for the firehammer....I have yet too get my tax'a done.....I have to pay in ..but not sure how much....You get you radio system Yet?.....Slawhammer

Trip...I have a small camper ..so it all worked out ok..propane heat....for the bad weather
Now as to my firehammer..I ordered some FG to HPI wheel adapters...this is where it gets a little confussing ..is the wheel size's ..120 by 60 mm or 120 by 75mm..
I want to go with sand paddles rear and a narrow tire in front....I would also like to use slicks for asphault...Some Ideas here guys..thanks...Slawhammer

hey slawhammer , was reading your thread and wanted to say you have done some job on your fire hammer, love the beetle body you put on it looks really cool ,have to say your thread is a great read keep up the good work .....

Nicky my dear young lady..thank you for your comments on my firehammer..well let's say old firehammer..almost a FG Now..some minor upgrades and it will be a FG....
I see your from the land where that Pot of Gold is...Need to find that little dwarf fellow..
You will be well pleased with the elcon elon.......I think I could own one by now with this firehammer project......It has been a god send to me to work on..and I have had a good time doing so...Some wonderful people here in LSF to help along the way...
Glad you like the beetle Pro Body..That was fun to paint...I am looking forward to painting another beetle shell......Glad you enjoyed your self with the thread...
Best to you young lady....AKASlawhammer

i think we would all like to find that little dwarf fella, if only!!!!!
any ideas for the paint work on your new beetle bodyshell,be sure to post some pics when you are done,
was just saying to dc2 to post up some pics of his new beetle rebuild, i think personally its lovely to see a work in progress makes for a more interesting read....

Nicky. no ideas at the monent for a new beetle shell....have a couple other minor upgrades
first...
Trip... as to the spark plug colour..little black not quite gray....I do see some gas around the carb ,,,All gasket are teflon will alloy ADA alloy intake....Going to replace the carb
going with a Walbro 771 I have a 813 already...its good for wot but not so good if ya blip the throttle with short burts for acceleration or on/off the throttle
For the money I would just buy the G290 and be done with it..or G260 race ported
again this is my opinion....AKASlawhammer
PS I have and do us WD40 to check for air leaks.....At this time there are no air leaks

So some one tell me about using bead locks? and going to baja style wheels...
maybe tires...I know some of you guys use them...Good dirt tire...Asphult tire..
I know about paddle tires for the rear ..what about a front tire for sand?
I need some ideas here ..thanks..AKASlawhammer

tyres.

hello slaw.

i like the standard fg tractor off roads tyres for off road use,as intended.

i also like the baja style tyres for sand,i don't know yet if they can be got for out fg's,maybe if you check out this link you may findwhat you need.

i am also getting a set of slicks next week for my fg beetle for onroad use...
they look great!

scrool down when you log in to this shop, every 1/5th tyre you want, the sand ones look cool.
