5 inches of snow in my driveway, it needs to be shoveled but it faces south so I think I'll let it melt tomorrow. You've gotten hammered with bad weather. Are you way north Ohio?

CSP..If you look on a map I am about 100 miles south of the border..In the middle
of the state......Slaw

hey slawhammer you got the same shock as mine, they perform excellent you will be happy with them,i have them tested ages ago and the results on my thread speak for themselves..

great shock!!

i used the silver springs that came with my fg as i thought they looked better than red, just my opinion but yours look good also.

have you fitted the rn pipe?

dc..the different colors for the springs are for different stiffness....
I wanted purple for a firm stiff spring....I want the spring to take most of the work
with the shock oil damping or to cushion....So now have to see if there is a repair kit..
to have on hand....I am going to cover the springs with boots to help keep
krud off the shaft....from cutting the 0-ring seal....
As to the RN Pipe..no mounting..I may not even use it....depends on how bad I have to hack up the body to use it....Other wise resell The New RN Pipe.....
So waiting on some other goodies to arrive....
Thanks for the reply.....Slawhammer...........

I was going to ask you about those springs, I was wondering if you were going to use the ones with your current shocks. Glad you got the ones from Hobbythek. Nice looking shocks!

dc.....Stand in line ..pick a number..there are two ahead of you now wanting the
RN Pipe....
CSP...Well ..was not sure about the firehammer stock shocks ..if the springs would work
or not...they seem whimpy...or weak...rc-online had more options to pick from..
thanks for the replys ....Slawhammer..................

Ok now on those new Shocks..went to mount them up..No go for the rear...
the spring hits the upper arms..where the big screw threads in in the plastic..
if you try to dremal it..There will be nothing left for the turn buckle screw......
I got it figured out..I will have to use different alloy upper arms...and different
raise rear up rights....So be another waiting game going on for this next week...

When you are done that truck won't be a firehammer truck any more. I will be a FG truck. Soon you will have enough spare parts to build another truck.
LOL

So Darksoul is making parts again huh? That's great!! I was under the impression they were out of business? I am curious what the outcome of this motor will be with the water cooling! This is gonna be cool!! (sorry, no pun intended!) LOL

Trip..

Trip, i believe with the darksoul cooling head, its not a water cooled unit anymore...
I have been looking at that engine set up. am interested in seeing how it performs...
Hope you keep us updated on that one slaw!!!!

Trip: the marine cylinders are mostly used by boat guy with a water jacket cooling heads
This dark soul head is air cooled head design....The marine cylinder is a beefier made
Cylinder..They have been ported..But I under stand more can be done....
Now Dark Soul from what I under stand..has turned over his car stuff to CC Enginerring
Carlo the boat guy down south....Dark Soul is doing other things in the Rc world..This set up will make some serious power
claimed 4.25HP with out a tune pipe..and possiable 5.25Hp from dyno stuff I have read..
There is another LSF Member : Teamchrome He has this set up and likes it very well
Maybe he will shead some light on this....

Kwakr: this set up is 2 bolt or 4 bolt set up..Can use CY Bottom case..
DDM has this stuff on there site...Under Cylinder & Head Kits...
I will let you guys kow how it all turns out..plan on using the DDM rear torque pipe
Not sure about the RN Pipe yet...I may want to go with a 27.2 cc for that...
Was suggested that would be serious power that you still have control over...
Any thing more would be too much...

Thanks guys for your replies and intrest....All Replies Welcome....Slawhammer

I swore I read somewhere that DarkSoul head kits were water cooled?!? I thought it would be kind of hard to carry a water tank with ice and water in it... Sorry about that... So your kit is similar to a big nitro head?

The other nice thinng about this set up is you can buy yourself another head for under $40.00 if it gets messed up. And thats a ported head.
