Great vid, your FHMT doesn't look like a FHMT any more! That pipe and engine are sweet! :cool2:
 
Well today it was 60* degree's out..But I had to help junior with a plumbing project...
Now that took about 6 hours...any thing that can go wrong did...Break ..leak..
Old plumbing in the house...should have been ripped out and started over...
too many other people trying there best before......I told junior let's rip out a bunch od cobbled mess and start fresh with PVC.......Any way that's done....

Now as to the firehammer to get it fired ....well not so good again today...
streak of bad luck...went to start it up...compression so tight I cut my hand open...
so had to go find a glove...Guess what ..the dam starter pawl broke...(plastic junk)
I did buy a metal pawl for the starter awhile back...I remember reading that your gona need to replace the plastic one....So I got that done.....Back out side for fire up...
primed the buld..set the choke....pulled and pulled...Hmmmmm maybe flooded...
Spark plug all wet.....Put in new spark plug....pulled and puller and pulled some more...
nothing..pulled the spark plug all wet....turned unit up side down to drain...and pulled
the starter...nothing coming out....checked for spark on the spark plug...noda..silch..
nothing..Back in the house....Take off the starter cover...remove the fan cover...
the coil gap is fine......Said BS..I installed new coil.....reset the gap..lock tied the bolts..
Put the fan cover & starter back on......Now have to let the lock-tite cure over nite....
Good thing I ordered a coil for a spare...............................
And don't ya just know every thing brake's down on the weekend.......
There is no hobby shop where I live..closest one is 50 mile's away.........
So I have to relay on ordering on -line......You can bet there will be another coil ordered
in the morning....and half doz spark plugs......
So there ya have it.....Maybe my luck will change for the best now.....
I think once that engine gets broke in ..and adjusted for performance..the RN Pipe
will wake up that engine.....So as of yet ..no real good report on that combo...
I need to be able to drive it.....Just another day turning wrench's.........

Krap slaw, if it can go wrong it will. I was looking forward to your thoughts on that power plant. Lots of compression? That motor is going to be great without the pipe, with the pipe it will be uncontrollable, but you like that don't you. lol
 
Hey clubin....I think that marine head will rip...with that head mod done to it....
Hell man I have been out of control for years...ya know on the edge...from racing
days....Will see once this engine is broke in....I think I will make more power than
the old 29CC Billet Head I had....But that was used with the firehammer....so I don't
know how well it was taken care of....Don't think I will use that engine again....
I will most likely save the 30mm stroker crank.....sell the 2 bolt lower case's & head..
see how bad the cylinder walls are and piston...They can be replaced for 60 bucks...
So I will be back out in the morning for a run this time....Every thing should be ok....
That old coil was orig....I now have every thing new...Only thing I have my dout's on are the engine mounts...I got new one's on order...I will make studs for those..new mounts & use lock nuts & washers...to hold down the engine.....

You will get a good report on the new power plant.......
I think it will rip up those baja termac tires.......

Hey Trip: I can send ya a new alloy CY set of engine mounts..Lrg & Sm
you can make me a set out of stainless steel....Be better than alloy or plastic....
To bad ya can't tig a 1/4" nut on those mounts and make new holes....
to hold better.................Slawhammer.......................

I have had jsut a bit of bad luck..getting this thing running.....
I think I have every think worked out now ..So should be able to brake in the engine.

Don't ever order from "my atomic hobbies" through ebay. I ordered from them. I waited a week for my part to ship. No part, I e-mailed them, no response, e-mailed again, no response. Then I finally called their store. "oh, we are out of that part".

Thought it was a fluke and tried again last year. Same thing, but this time I was given a response after a day through e-mail. They were out of the part.

Unfortunately the machine I run is a 35 foot long, horizontal boring mill!!! I couldn't even begin to set up a job that small :lol: (I make stamping dies for body panels for cars) I think you need to get that mini-mill you were talking about! I saw one in the back of an R/C car magazine for $300.00, I wish I could find the article...

I was hoping to get out with the firehammer...It will take awhile 30*degree's here
weather report says 55* today...so maybe later...I need it warmer for my testing of the new marine engine......I got the settings pretty good thee other day on the spark plug
almost light brown....couple of 1 minute bursts I should have it dialed in....
Not even a 1/2 tank of fresh fuel used yet.....I wanted to get 2 tanks ran today...
that should dring the engine around pretty good.....Slawhammer
 
Trip: After I added some 2 stroke oil and worked the pull start with out thee spark plug
It seemed to work a little better....Yeah the old hairdryer from nitro brake in days...
I may have to do that later today....I am sure glad I had the piston ring area shave
2mm...so it didn't freeze up for good......Thanks for the advice....Slawhammer

I need those for the Monster tires I have comming, the ones I have now are modded to fit the Baja hubs and bearings.

I was able to go out this afternoon and run both the Hammer and the Baja.
Its a bit sloppy but was fun..
