Thanks guys....may be long ...but that's what this is about sharing information about Rc
units..but mine is just a smartech/firehammer.......Now as to dc man..that was a joke
there..he don't know poop from shinenloa..about Rc Cars..he is a glorified parts changer with lots of money too spend..........And too Benckie that is also another great project
with great info on the Fg MT..my hat's off to you my friend........
If you think this is long it is even longer in RCU......But I like the people here.....

Well ben... I tell ya...this old man here has nothing better to do then to mess with the Rc toy...This is what keeps me going in real life right now..is this project....Some people at my age just give up and sit in a rocken chair and do nothing......With the Rc Toy this give me a chance to get outdoors and too move around......It may not be a top shelf FG...
But by the time I am done with the up grades it will be.....it is not about money for me for me on this project....It is about staying alive with some thing to do...
you can not put a price on this....I enjoy trying to help some other person who has a firehammer if I can......this forum also keeps me to stay alive....from all you great people out there.....I read some of your projects as well......Like I say many thanks to you all.....
I guess the project will end when I no longer can take a breath of air......Slawhammer

there are a few threads on this forum are my daily rituals. I wake up, grab a coffee and head out to the garage for my morning fix. I've read this thread through twice now and learned things each time. I may not do things exactly the same, but I have been inspired to do my own things based off your ideas

my hats off to you. you also are my answer when I get razzed about spending too much on mine... ya but look at this, he has spent much more on the same truck, so I am not over spending. hehe
 
hey my friend listen...I quite counting money after the thousand dollar mark....
But I do know how much I have spent so far.....way more than any one would spend on a clone.......you could have a great Fg 4x4 comp all decked out to the max with upgrades
I have invested in my firehammer......But like I have said so many times before it is not
about the money for me.....It is hands on doing..fixing..making better..a challenge..
for this old man to have some thing to do and see run... too enjoy what was done....
to pass on the information to help others....... trying to help others save money from
buying the wrong parts...it costs money for the hobby in 1/5 scale..so do it right the first time.....$30,$40.$50 dollar parts add up quick....ain't nothing to spend a easy $100 dollars for small items....nuts,bolts,screws,clip ect you name...adds up in a hurry.....
there are many of you out there with $200 dollars plus for spare parts........

Hell ya, I've spent about $800 in the last week and a half on stuff, not counting the mt hehe. and just spending another $300. I was adding it up last night. your firehammer and my semi fit that same mold. I could have just bought a new one cheaper but it was a fun project and unique in it's own way. I like the tinkering more than I do the driving. if I had room in my garage, I'd be buying a small hobby mill, though adding a shed out back might solve some room issues ;) ... I don't even have my guitars out here anymore, they surround my bed
 
yup I tell ya I am on a shoestring budget....only the dam string keeps braking....
tough for me when I need a item that is broken...I have to barrow from my medical
money...that I buy my meds each month with....so I don't want to short change my self
there....I need the meds every day.....crazy addicting hobby(money pit)....
now ther's a thought..I could lay the engine down..make some mods and have a semi...
get a cab and go from there...2 model's in 1....Slawhammer

I got out again just flogged the hell out of that engine....I think my god this thing has a good chance...seems to run strong.....was hoping to get up some video...
no mini tri pod yet....was told 2 day delivery...poop I could have ridden a bicycle to go get
it..like 95 miles away...guess that's way it's called snail mail.....Slawhammer
 
hey trip were talking 90 miles away....come on..doesn't take 7 days for delivery...
Hell I get from Calif in 3 days...I mean 90 miles away same state here ..what 1 1/2 hr

Any update on the mini tripod yet? I want to see how you get it mounted, that way I know whether or not to buy one!
 
Hokie Camera set up on Tx

Hey Csp....Yup came late today...5 days to go 90 miles..not bad....
The mini pod is 5 inch's tall..extends 3 inch's...........
Ok I used rubber bands and a hokie mount up to the TX......It will work....
I shook the tx and the camera don't move......Enclosed pictures...................
I will give this a try out in the morning.....Rain Day here...Slawhammer:2guns::2guns:

Came Home Broken

Hey Teamchrome..Nice area to run......
I went too the place where I run some times..but the main road was closed ..due to
flooding form the rain....I went to a new area....For get the tri pod deal for now..
I tried for 5 minutes..I could not even see the screen from the sun...............
I ran for just shy of a hour......rough ground there...don't think I will be going back there...
Had a little bad luck again.....ripped the right front bulk head holes out....
I just replaced all this last week......Guess time for alloy A & B bulk heads......
so I will be making some repairs tonight.......Ready to run in the morning again........
I run pretty much full tilt or wide open when I can.........Enclosed pictures.........
Who said not too come home less you brake some thing.......CSP CSP CSP.............
All in all I did have a good time....Slawhammer

Can i ask you to post some pics up of your firehammer with those new wheels you have as i have not seen a pic from you yet?

If your talking a bout the baja wheels and Termac tires check page 56 post 553
other wise I will have to look in my photo's............................
