Hey Teamchrome..Nice area to run......
I went too the place where I run some times..but the main road was closed ..due to
flooding form the rain....I went to a new area....For get the tri pod deal for now..
I tried for 5 minutes..I could not even see the screen from the sun...............
I ran for just shy of a hour......rough ground there...don't think I will be going back there...
Had a little bad luck again.....ripped the right front bulk head holes out....
I just replaced all this last week......Guess time for alloy A & B bulk heads......
so I will be making some repairs tonight.......Ready to run in the morning again........
I run pretty much full tilt or wide open when I can.........Enclosed pictures.........
Who said not too come home less you brake some thing.......CSP CSP CSP.............

Csp..Yup you bet had a grand time....
No... no alloy bulk heads yet....Not sure on that yet...I can buy lots of plastic bulk heads for the price of alloy....be close to 70 bucks for alloy....plastic is think $4.00 bucks a pr

Teamchrome..I am motivated to do a video....I just could not see the camera screen
cuz of the sun was all....I am going to give it a try again.....Just have to go to a different
place to run where the is some shade.....Ever place I go is in the open........
I will give it another try...I have to watch the rc car at all times...pretty hard for my on a 4 inch screen....But I am not going to give up yet.....Slawhammer
 
Well I got my front end back together again with new bulk heads and hinge pins....
I drove about 10 miles one way to where I run on the end of a golf course...they do mow there..not real short ..may be like at home lawn......I get there ok.......
did radio check & car check all servos move ok as well as the kill switch.....
Fire it up in 2 pulls..Vroom vroom..she goes..let idle for 1 minute or so......
Hit the throttle run maybe 20 feet..engine just screams in rpm's.........
Thought there goes a grub screw on the drivre.or diff let go inside............No No No
Yeah I know what it is..........So Packed up and drove back home.....
Ya know... I guess I am not ment to run my car..Every time out now it is some thing....
Yup ...just what I though ..no lining let on the clutch shoes..... ya know I got spare
parts......The clutch shoe bolts were pretty rusty looking...so I sanded those again...
I installed the new clutch shoes..So I am ready to go ..for sure this time...........
I avarage 4 sets of clutch shoes a year........And come to think about it yesterday..
just before the front end let go..the engine just didn't sound right....But thought that
was cuz I was running on rough ground.........I put a dab of blue lock tite on the clutch bolts..too keep from backing out....Had that happen once...........
So I may get out later in about 5 more hours...give the lock tite time to set some...
I should just wait over night..for a full cure........So My friends there ya have it...

Sorry too say guys...not enough shamrocks......I fired up the firehammer...Bam
lower end ..such a clatter ..banging going on....Think engine bearing let go..maybe wrist
pin on the piston.....Guess what I have no engine bearings in my parts box.........
I ordered up 2 sets of Engine bearings..2 wrist pin bearings..along with c-clips....
they should be here by thursday....Yes the gas & oil mix was 25:1 5 oz oil to 1 gal gas
Like I said I run the hell out of my car...show it no mercy..it will go or blow.....
I am getting good at rebuilding engines.......So the wait for parts...I will be back out this coming week end......You can bet I will have enough parts no matter what I will have to do this next time..........ya know it's just hammer time with me.......

Hey Ben..The price was right when bought the digital camera....$200 usd NIB
I got it for $50 usd..color don't matter..it's what's inside that makes it work......

Now as to hitting the 50 MPH mark..Not yet.......Got too build another engine.....
I will continue with this marine top end if the cylinder is still good......Think I am going to get a G260 race ported 4 bolt topend kit..I f not that for sure the 27.2 ..4 bolt top end...
I will get this engine sorted out....I think the only difference in the two is the +2mm crank
used too make the 27.2CC engine...Slawhammer
 
so the ada head kit no good ?

if you want natual speed with out big gear changes don't use 29, 30 mm canks as they produce less top end and more bottom end, but with porting and gear changes they will be as fast or even faster as a motor running the 28mm standard crank
 
I think I am going to make a helmet cam... That way I won't have to worry about trying to keep the car in the screen. If the camera "looks" where I look, it should be fine! Plus it will give me another reason to look like a fat dork! :lol:

Bummer to hear about the motor Slaw... But you have to be just about able to build a motor in your sleep!

Hey Ben..the ADA Kit is fine to use....That's the cylinder that got damaged when the
clip let go from the piston........So I went with the "sikk" Marine head & Dark Soul cooling
head..the set up the boat guys use............
As to the engine builds...I use a standard 28 mm solid crank.....No stroker's.......
I use a 4 bolt lower zenoah case....If you want any thing ported 4 bolt you have O'Neil
Brothers to get kits from......At this point in time DDM offers none...in 4 bolt........
I keep hearing ESP (Doug) is to do some thing ..But hell that was 6 months ago...
I really do think ya will see any thing this year in 4 bolt there for kits....I know ESP is a busy engine builder and DDM buys his stuff or they have a contract for ESP engines...
Ben..the G260 & G270 are the same top ends...just different cranks used.....
Best little engine for the RPM'S is the G260rc..........Slawhammer
 
Hey trip..I just may do that..helmet thing..I think my son has a extra hard hat around
be worth a shot.......I need to figure out some thing to do video's....Cuz I am the
only person too play with the rc stuff..every body else here are doing some thing different
all different intrests and not rc.........Engine build is a snap...takes about 1 hour..
to take apart and rebuild back up with new parts.....Slawhammer
