Hey pipe..very little cost for the repair...$6 bucks for a piston ring,,and some time is all
..I could have reused the old piston ring...Maybe 1 gallon of fuel used on it...so just
got broken in...No since taken a chance.....Any way I have engine bearings now in my parts box.........Like I have said before....This engine don't work out.....
I have a 26cc race ported head kit waiting to be built up.......................
Guess I mentioned before this is the third marine set up I have tried.....This don't work
it will never be used by me again....Like BaseBall..3 strikes your done....Slawhammer
 
Yeah I hear ta both...I should have name my thread..what the hell does it cost to
make a firehammer right.....But as many of you know they all have there issues..no matter
the brand name......Slawhammer

Hey TeamChrome..I don't think There will be a baja here....Not unless some one buys my firehammer......Only thing left to do is change out to fg Chassie pan & new side guards
then I will be all converted in to a FG....No longer a Firehammer....All parts will be Fg...
put duel front shocks on change over the upper & lower control arms..it will be a FG Pro beetle...........I have a Fg Chassie pan coming.....Slawhammer
 
Rain Day here today..so just chillin out....I will fire my car up in the morning....
Like I mentioned before ..going to build up another engine.....26cc Race ported.....
I am not a real big fan on stroke cranks.......I my self like the G26RC Engine.....
There are many engine's to choose from......Slawhammer
 
I had my car out this morning...just run it at 1/2 throttle for 1/2 fuel tank...
Shut it down and letting cool off..need to check the cooling head screws..see if there still
tight.......I plan on going back out agin some time today and run 1 full tank of fuel thru the engine....Then the piston ring should be set ......The engine will only keep getting better
the more I run it after the first gallon on this piston ring.....So there ya have it.......

I took the car back out just before supper..ran 1 full tank of fuel thru the engine..
seems to be getting better.....I have to let things cool off and spot check the nuts,bolts
screws...look at the spark plug for color.....I will be back out in the morning....

After this first gallon of fuel..I am going to push this engine to the max........
not lean condition...But run the hell out of it.......Slawhammer
 
I got out for a bit..but it is just hot out with humidity up there...85 degree's and sunny
..I will wait till this evening when the sun gets lower and be some shade I hope....
But the humidity is the real killer......The engine seems to running good......
I did check the spark plug..is light black ..so will run at that for now....Slawhammer

Awesome! It's a great feeling when nothing breaks.
 
Hey CSP..Seems like I am always fixing and not running....
This last engine build holds together that will be great for now........
I seem to be I always hit a pot hole un seen..or a rock..stupid post..driver error...
But I love to run full tilt to the max...wide open throttle.....Ya know go or blow....
Just run the living hell out of it....That's why all the control arms are plastic.....
easy fix and not a lot of money invested there.....Slawhammer
 
hey slaw i just read your post on rcu.. very educational... too bad im tryin to get rid of my firehammer now.. i really like the fgs.... you are very knowledgable
 
Well crawler..I am glad you got some great information about the firehammer.....
The firehammer is a better clone than most RC clones out there.....Every Rc Unit
has issue's no matter the brand name you buy.......I have done these threads to help other
firehammer owner's as well....some people in RCU do not come into LSF that have firehammers..and they ask questions about the firehammer.........
Now I have had a lot of Rc Friends along the way to give me advice along the way
very long list of names..some from here in LSF and some from RCU..and some people bounce back & forth between the 2 forums.....Lot of different Rc Units with lot of people
sharing ideas and asking questions.......That is what it is all about,,People helping Poeple
with there Hobby........Lot of the information I have learned my self and some has been advice..So I can not take all the credit about the firehammer...When I use some one else's idea I give credit to that person for the idea in the post.......
As far as the FG goes they have been around the longest to my knowladge.....some thing like 20 years.....The German's have been known for three great workmanship

You go slaw..Nice to be able to take it out and have some fun and bring it back unharmed. When it breaks is when you get the knowledge but I think you got that end covered and deserve to be able to take it out and beat the snot out of it with out any issues. Yes it is hot and humid here and I don't care to take mine out in them conditions either..Plus Im still recovering from a major burn on my hand...Word of wisdom... Tuned pipe gets hot and be careful when removing grass from the back of car after running..:nono:
Im looking forward to hearing how it does with some full throttle..What about some videos? Keep up the good work there hammergod.:2guns:
 
Thanks A69...I did get out early this morning while the out side temp was cool....
68 degree's...I ran for 30 minutes..nothing great just getting engine time on the car....
Yeah I know about putting up vid's....I guess I will have to look in to a headcam....
Little short on funds aright now......Waiting for 3 or 4 different people to pay for items
I sent out......weather forcast high of 90 and humidy up as well so the heat index will
be high.....I did have a nice time running ..no issues..just a good time..Slawhammer
 
UPDATE: I got the Fg Chassie Pan...I need to get few items yet before I switch over
from the firehammer chassie pan...That is the last major item....All will be a fg conversion now...You know the electronic's and the wheels & tires I changed to baja & Hostile
along with the RN Fat Monster exhaust pipe...Engine....all else is Fg Parts..........
Ok teamchrome I am working on getting some video's taken....I am looking in to a helmet cam........Slawhammer
 
I was out for a short bit to run my car...had the camera on the TX..but had a hard time
seeing the screen...jittery as hell..about 2 min worth...I can't get it to upload to U Tube
for some reason.........Going back out later for some engine time.....Slawhammer
 
Ok I got the Test video to load on U-Tube...Granted it is not that great..
I had a hard time seeing the camera screen.....This why for me a helmet Cam
would work better with a lazer beam...It is easier for me to watch the car while running
I did this in the ally way ..so not much room to run the car here..It is ok for some testing is about all 5 minutes worth.....Like I say it is

Yeah..let's face it,,that short vid sucks big time....I know and so do you now....
Like I said The camera is mounted to the Tx..I can't do it that way...Sorry but I tryed
Too much for me to handle at my age......Running my car is more important to me than
a video......If I get some one to take a fine fine..Other wise forget......
For those who can drive and shoot video the same time..your a better person than
I am.....My hat is off too you........Slawhammer
