I love it when I get out and everything goes great and I'm not back at the house 30 minutes later trying to figure out why something went wrong. That Beetle of your is fast as hell. Cool on the 2 speed stuff!

I went outside for a bit this afternoon. I don't think I would have had the energy to drive any place to run. Too damn hot.

out now..thunder storms moved out during the night....saying high of 90 today.....
Going out soon for a short 30 minute run with my Rc Car....Little time is better than none..

Went to the in-laws tonight for dinner and had a run with the Rampage and the FHMT. Good fun! Too damn hot though. The beer turned warm after a 5 minute run. That's no good. :(
 
Yeah..in-laws out-laws...I have had my share of family matters....I was the out cast
I said what I felt and they all knew it..So I was not in to any click with them.....
Well you did get to run for a bit even if it was hot out...Only thing that beer is good
for is to precook brats for the charcoal grill....brings out the flavor of the meat.......
Now Nada nothing for running my car......Rain rain rain...all I get here....rain yesterday
rain today.....Tell ya I should have gotten a airboat......

I have an old Dumas Big Swamp Buggy in my basement. I think I've had it about 20 years now...has an old 60 OS airplane engine on the back with an airplane prop. I may have to get that thing up and going again someday. It's a bit warped and a few broken pieces on it, but I ran it one time on snow in a big field. It was a friggin blast.

Since all rc's are now running, I've got to clear out my side of the garage a bit. Time for some clean up. Hope to get out sometime this week in the evening.

That's frikin crazy! I have the same swamp thing in my room. :laugh: I've always thought of putting a cheap two stroke on it. It used to have a .60 but I sold it on ebay to help fund the 1st 5th scale. If you start the project I might copy you.

Slaw you guys have been getting hammered with rain??

I'll pull that thing out of the storage room and post some pics of the ugly thing up in the boat section this weekend. LOL
 
CSP...I looked at those air boats..they still make kits...But look like all nitro engines....
I looked at some other airboats for gasoline engines....Now there are some crazy price's
Just like the Rc Car's........Hey sun came out today high 85* degree's ..and wow
the projected fprcast for the rest of the week sunny & in the 80's.....things should be
dried off pretty much by noon tomarrow......so Looks like I can get out for a run...

Bigger..yeah if you look at the national weather map..Ohio is hit pretty good with rain
well along with Indiana & Pa....Seems these states are on a storm belt......

Thanks for the hunting tips Roger. I have an fg chassis coming now for my mt from the uk. I forgot ebay.ca doesn't show uk items anymore in searches. got a killer deal on one too. and finally got my paycheque, what a hassle. glad I borrowed the money to ship stuff holy smokes...

I'll probably be bugging your for help with this suzuki motor on the dune buggy I am fixing up. going to his place to re clear coat his car mirrors in a few minutes so will grab that serial number for some google searching. I'll take the camera and get a couple pics too

can't wait to see the banana risers and 2 speed on that beast of yours
 
Hey Bigger ..Maybe get out Sat for a short video...Too much stuff here at home going on
every 1 got layed off..nocall back....

Pipe....I have many areas to find rc stuff........It has been awhile on cycle engines
I have done them as well as proting them few years back...
I did get the banana risers installed....I hate to tear down the car at this moment...
it is running so well.......For the 2 spd to work....Have to remove the engine..
install the modified Fg clutch housing..Fg large engine mount(plastic) God I hate
plastic for that area..I have looked for a alloy Fg Mount..I have found 4 different mounts
so not sure as too what mount too get...there 60 to 70 USD a pop..I want too only buy
1 mount.....The 2 spd is all rebuilt...Now as I think about it..I may have to buy the claw
that is the only thing not new on the 2 spd..........
Oh yeah as a Note:Miss's says I have to sell some stuff rc related...same as for the son's
since every one is not working.....I will post it up in the market place ...a Hi-Tec
Servo Programmer....New In Box.. There will be a couple more items as well little later................. Slawhammer

I'm with you there Slaw. Selling my RC's will be the last thing I do. Honestly, selling all of them would probably just cover my house payment and an electric bill. You don't get back what you put into them. Gotta hang onto some sort of sanity during stressful times.
 
Yeah well I have a lot of RC stuff sitting here in the kitchen...I guess I will have to get a large tote...and take it out and place it some where else.......
Miss's and I always have words on this stuff......But I was told some if it goes or I go
you make the call she says...And being every is laid off work....Makes it real tough

Minor UP Grade on My FireHammer

Hey Pipe:..I got the banana risers last week...I have 3 pictures...
Before & after 1 & 2.....In the before picture is a short riser that they use on the formula 1
on road car......Now the after picture is what is used for off road....to rise the rear
upper arms up and away from the spur gear.......You will see I just installed the banana
risers..Yeah my car is dirty....and I am not going to clean it right now.....
But to continue to run the hell out of it...Weather turned nice....sunny ..But dam
hot with high humidity.....90* degree's & 85 % Humidity....Not a good combo
for running ......So with weather like that I can only stand about 15minutes of running
as do to health reasons.....But I want to get in all the fun I can.........

Hey Super....Now to do the 2 spd....I have all the required parts...
to do the changes......Just I have my car running so good now with out any
issues....Unless I do some thing stupid and hit some thing....I hate to tear it down
just to install the 2 spd......Be interesting to clock the speed.....as of now I am
pussing 50mph with the stock gearing on asphalt.........

As to the risers they make a big difference for the clearence needed.......
I agree with you ..they should be included with the car or truck for off/roading....
But you know that's the ploy of it all.....PARTS = Dollars
Name if the game....all about money....Hobbiest will spend money to make there
Rc car or truck,Buggy boat ,plane better than they way it came in kit forum or RTR....

As a Hobbiet we are never satified with the way we get our products....
and want to customize we would like it to be...Personal creations added.....Slaw
 
Hey Super...YES I would have to a complete rebuild to the Fg taper chassie pan
Just to make the 2 spd work now... with all new rebuild 2 spd........
I now have this car running so good..after the engine work of the rebuilds there........
So in approx 90 more days the snow will be here....or 3 months.....
That would be the time to do the complete rebuild...inspect every part and replace
what has to be replaced......Slaw
