Ahh, you are the man Lan! I can't find my chanelocks, but I'll try it with a big set of vice grips and a socket.

what you do with socket is put it over the ball on the underside, take pliers catch the socket on bottom, and on top the ball and press. it pops the ball out into the socket. look for a socket that will fit over ball but still catch the a arm all way round, makes a stable flat meeting that way and easy to pop the ball out.

I ended up using my small vice and a socket to pop the balls out. It worked great. Thanks for the socket idea Lan.

np bro, i didnt have the tool at time , and run across this method, as you know in stock form on front arms, theres a plastic cone that sits on top of the ball. well, i got a set of TFE one piece ball/cones, the cone was machined right into the ball, makin it one piece and ten thousand times stronger than the old plastic cones, which i read have tendancies to malform, and squash over time.

these all metal one piece units solve that issue.

I'll have to get some of those when the plastic ones fail. Got another question, how do you get the clips back on the wheel spacers behind the front hub?

Here's where I'm at now. Almost done with front end. The pins that hold the upper A-arms to the frame are a little short, so I can't get the clip on the front of the pin. I will have to do some adjusting. The KM pins most be a little shorter than the HPI ones.

cant recall if you installed what a arms. RPM may be a tad wider if i recall that right. if when pins in all the way, and its just barely not showing thr groove for clips, you can use sandpaper and take a lil off outsides of holes on a arms, not on insides just the 2 outsides where pins will have the clips.

taking just a very small amount off isnt gonna hurt, but if we're talking more than just a lil you may have to get different pins. from looks of the fuzzy pic it almost looks like the groove is almost there, so the lil bit sanded off will prolly let you get clips on.

Yeah, they're RPM A-arms. I'm going to take a large drill bit (larger than clip) and make an area for the clip to set in.

I don't want to sand my blue a arms. If I drill a shallow hole in the rear of the a arm then I can recess the clip in the hole.

Well I didn't have a large enough drill bit with a shallow point so I ended up using a razor blade and a file. It came out decent. The last thing to do on the front end is de-anodize the shock cap and spring adjustment nut.

Rear shock supports came in today. I will start on the rear of my buggy this weekend. Also, DDM had the TR front shock brace on sale for $15 so I ordered 1 .

How does oven cleaner react with plastic? I'm getting lazy and don't want to pull the rear frame plate off. Thought about leaving the plate installed, spraying it with oven cleaner, and rinsing it off a minute later.
