You could but you'll probably need a oxy- acetylene torch to get the steel to be that blue. Honestly if it was me and I did say if the pipe starts to rust ill have it coated and be done with it
 
Brand new pipe color from welding vs my quick 10 min deal...
Clean it all off and let the engine put the color back in the pipe. You will permanently lose the color around the welds tho....
Or at this point send it out to get coated
Negative sir the color from the welds is just heat from welding..here was new...then stripped with minimal effort..then test blued
I used map gas handheld torch with small tip.. i can get the bands much smaller
