Also did a 6.0L swap in my zr2 s10 back in the day. Retained AC and 4wd, was a fun truck.

I'm always fiddling with one of my vehicles. Currently been messing with an 01 vw tdi. Started life with 90hp alh. 230 injectors, 11mm injection pump, Garrett hybrid gt1852 turbo, godspeed smic and 2.5" turbo/intercooler piping. Full egr delete and "race" intake. Arp head studs. 2.5" exhaust.20230313_193242.jpg20230313_193256.jpg It looks pretty stock, even under the hood. Should be close to 200 hp at 80mg fuel per stroke. Not fast by any standards but a fun driver that still gets 45mpg back and forth to work.
Then there my 79 f350. Full frame off restoration and 12v cummins swap.

Doesn't look quite as nice now and it's been lowered about 8 inches. Still clears 37" swampers with room to spare. The engine received the full treatment. Rebuilt, studded top and bottom, head o-ringed, stage 3 Colt cam, 13mm industrial injection p7100, 6x 0.018" injectors, thinned needles and edge filter removed, air dog df200 set to 70psi, heavy valve springs, titanium pushrods, crank balanced for 5k rpm, borg Warner s300g under a s476. I can push 72psi with this set up. Haven't ever dynoed it, but it's up there pretty high as far as hp and torque goes. Broken a lot of drive train components with it. Driven nice it still returns 20 mpg.
I've been debating on pulling the cummins out and stuffing a big block back in it. I don't drive it much as it's not really kid friendly, and I have a 92 f350 crew cab sitting here that would serve me better with the cummins in it vs the tired 7.3 idi it has (had) in it.(it would also get de tuned of that happens) That will be my next project. (After the new shop is up) If I do pull the cummins out I have a mild built 460 and 4x4 c6 sitting in storage that would bolt right in and require just swapping a harness out (which I have and is super easy to swap in old trucks.)

This is an old thread , before my time here being relatively new.

Yes that rim can most likely be fixed.
There is a place one town over from me and this is what they specialize in. I have seen some pretty banged up wheels they fixed and you would never even know they had previous damage.

My car project.
A blown injected altered.
No pictures but will take some when I get to the shop.
At my part time gig we have welded literally thousands of wheels doing bead lock conversions.
Cut off the original bead from the rim and weld the conversion ring on in it's place.1709138873737.png
