Well... Got my new brakes installed today.

Also, a few goodies from Germany arrived. I inspected the original gear plate. All the bearings are good so i figured i could get a bit more use out of it before winter hits here in Michigan. During the winter I will replace the gear plate/bearings with the upgrades.

Are you using the original plastic plate?

Be interesting to see how it holds up.

I would imagine it will run cooler with the belt.

Will be interesting to see how it holds up. The belt will put constant tension on the bearings where-as the gears would not.

Very true.

I hadn't thought of that.

I'd reckon a bearing upgrade won't be far off.

I'm currently running pin gears and considering a belt upgrade so will be interested in how it holds up.

I still have my old plastic plate in a box somewhere.

Did you have any problems with the metal gears?
