I have a 120a spektrum esc and spektrum motor combo.i have it in my slash 4x4 with the tqi rx/tx all worked fine until I unhooked everything.i have steering but no throttle.and the esc is blinking red.any ideas?thank you for such silly question but it has me stumped

Make sure your connections are good, you may have something in the wrong spot. Relevant irrelevant mention I unhooked the motor/esc in my xmaxx and I had the same issue, you have something in the wrong spot in the traxxas receiver

I have steering servo in channel 1.motor in channel 2and esc in channel three

I can't recount what I did but your issue lays within the fact you unplugged the system so keep trying different slots till it comes back. Luckily I took a picture of what was where when I did it

I’m trying to find out how to reset esc to factory because I have no instructions.that might correct the flashing red on the esc.rx/rx are bound.

Ok now when I turn the wheel the tires move.any ideas?

True about the 2 steering slots, but one thing has come to mind that has caught me a couple times, if the throttle trim was moved from its last calibration position it wont let the esc arm itself or turn on and run away. Just a hunch, check to see your trims are centered then recalibrate the esc if that doesn't work. I have a boat that I need to ever so lightly need to push toward brake to get it to arm and then work
The traxxas transmitter can be detected for 50/50 or 70/30 throttle/ brake, you need to recalibrate the esc each time that selection is changed also
