great work pipe, looks like youve really done your homework there. not sure if im capable of something like that but id love to find out if anyone has tried.

i filed down the sides of the chassis, will post up a pic later! (having camera trouble)
otherwise, ya write up's looking good!!

What wheels & tyres are you running Sper? Ive got the std spikes on my marder but I think they contribute to a lot of rolls in the corners cos they dig in so much. I was looking at getting some baja wheels & tyres to allow the back end to drift round a bit more but these look awesome

i run the wheel wizards adaptors, desperado rims and bow tie tires. they have held up really well, done well over 40 tanks on them and only now do they require replacement.

i will be getting myself a set of hostiles front and rears, will reuse the same foams and rims.

well finally got around to taking some pics of the fg tuning brake kit and the 7955tg.

i was doing some tuning on the brakes last night, trying to get it to bite earlier in the trow on the tx and notice that the servo has so much grunt it actually flexes the chassis slightly on 100% brake! Damn thats impressive, for the servo anyway!

cant wait to try out my adjustments, anyway here's some pics.

their actually desinged to give it the exact same stance as stock, the offset on HPI rims are different to that of FG rims so while it looks like it will be wider with wheels off its exactly the same.

yes the wheel wizards are designed to house the genuine FG brake kits.

I just have a hard time putting something called hpi on an fg. hehe. like putting a chev engine in a '29 ford thing. I got a set of the standard marder tires with the vw to play with as well, though would have to gear up a bit to use them. I'll bring them along to Moo's next week in case the track is a mud pit. I can toss them on the tb2 or the baja. tb2 might need them more

thats fair enough, if it helps the wheel wizards arnt made by FG, but a forum member, and you don't have to run HPI rims or tires, you can use MCD ones if that helps you sleep better LOL.

my rears have finally turned into slicks so im in the market for four new tires, think ill go the hostiles, cant afford them till next week though :(

nice find pipe, i run thinner up front, basically HPI rims front skinner than back so I still have the baja look on mine which I like.

it might steer better with rears on the front as well but I don't like the look of it, I would rather have skinner on all four than the rears on all four.

very similar tread pattern to the hostiles which will mount straight onto my desperado rims.

I think it will turn better with the smaller tires, but just my thought. only 1 way to find out... I like the look with smaller tires on front too. the nutech tires are the same overall height as my tb2 tires, they just have a larger rim and less rubber. I think the baja tires are a tad taller than the tb2

i know the stock fg baja tires are identical in height to HPI rims and tires, checked it before I bought a set.

i think the bigger sidewall in nutech/hpi is a positive for off road, helps the cushioning with landings and since they don't have much ground clearance anyway it all helps.

i wanted to try nutech tb2 rims and tires on my MT but sold it before I could.

some guys had problems with them cracking rims, but mine have been aweome. I just think a bad batch went to a distributor and all the replacements were same batch.

just measured, tb2 rims and tires same height as baja. guess it's an optical illusion with so much rim on the baja. and I am opposite. I like little foam in the tire to let the suspension do the work. I don't like tires folding going hard in a corner. I try to roll jumps close to the dirt at all times, then less chance of boucning or losing it. the more the wheels stay on the ground the more throttle you can give.

each to their own hey. I like the tire/foam to do as much work as possible before using suspension.

i hardly jump anymore, much prefer flat track racing where I can try and get the perfect corner and the perfect slide.

when i first got my MT i jumped it every day, kind of over it now, wouldnt mind racing actually.

yup racing is the ticket. I don't like bashing. even if it's just setting up the track running laps with your buds, the competition makes it that much more fun. we never keep track of the actual laps doing on rod cuz they all know the semi is going to win ;)

well until I go pick up the timing system, then I can post it in print.. ya and the smack talking is just part of the experience hehe

trust me id be racing if there was somewhere in vic that catered for large scale, looks like there might be something in the piping so I might not be waiting as long as I thought!
