Hello,

I have baja 5t and some reason it cut out the other day on the sand dunes. It never happened before so maybe you can help. I will tell you what I have done, couldn’t find anything in the search on the site so here goes.
Check the carburetor for dust and cleaned. Clean the filter in the tank to see if it was blocked as when I prime it, it only goes about to 1/4 full the prime bubble. Spark plug is good checked. But when I prime the bubble in the orange pipe leading to the tank there is bubbles, normal? I have yet to take apart the black pipe leading in the tank to see if that is blocked going into the carburetor. Checked for air leaks with WD 40 but found nothing around the carburetor. I’m thinking of talking the carburetor out tomorrow evening to check more in detail.

Thoughts all

Hey,
I’m thinking that there is air is getting in from when I prime the bubble. Just been trying it again with the bubble and I hear noise like the air is passing through. If you get me... I will check it out tomorrow in detail if not I need to buy a new carburetor?

No all is in place checked that, maybe the black pipe in the tank has à blockage. Will check it later

That's normal. There is a tiny little vent on the backside of the bulb plate that equalizes the air on the topside of the diaphragm . So that is probably what you are hearing.

That diaphragm vent should not be leaking, or allowing air to be sucked Into the carb. Not normal of it is. Thinking about it, there really shouldn't be any air getting sucked through the fuel system in the carb. Some literature for you to read.

Ok update. Took the carburetor out which you can see in the pictures. Checked the fuel pipes and nothing blocked or ripped. Your thoughts.BAB69180-4DC9-4FB8-B590-4E3341B5AD6F.jpeg9256D474-08FA-4AFD-9899-CFD25FBCF175.jpeg

So I need something like this. The full kit
Turn it upside down and pump it you mean...
Ok I turned it upside down pumped it and the prime bubble is now full. Engines repairs are not my strongest point.
