Stock or aftermarket air filter box?

Besides spending more money on the truck, is there any real advantage to going with a Turtle Racing air filter box over the stock filter on a Losi 5T 2.0?

Or a Crazy Stu filter? What do you have to do to modify the cage with the Crazy filter?

Exhaust and intake on any rig are the 2 best upgrades

I have both the crazy stu & the turtle racing intake.

I really like the durability and feel of the turtle intake, feels like it can last a lifetime BUT

I feel the CrazyStu has a slight performance edge over the TR intake... like it allows the engine to breath better ??‍, and because of where the air filter sits (right in front of the windshield) It’s almost like a cold air intake system ?

both are great, really I guess it’s all a matter of preference and opinion.

Turtle racing for the win imo. Simple cant get rubbed through or burnt. And it could use an hpi style filter.

I'm machining an adapter outta delrin right now that will allow me to use the stock air setup and still slide a 2-3" aftermarket ricer style air breather over it

Exhaust and air filter are always the first two upgrades. Let that engine breathe!

The plastic filter housing that mounts to the carb is also bad about warping when you torq to bolts too tight.
